DECS-400 Excitation Controller

The DECS-400 is a microprocessor-based controller that provides excitation control, flexible logic control, and optional power system stabilization for synchronous machines in an integrated package. The controller provides an analog output to control the firing of external bridge(s) and monitors machine parameters to control, limit, and protect the synchronous machine from operating beyond its capability limitations. The optional power system stabilizer function is an IEEE-type PSS2A, dual input, integral of accelerating power stabilizer that provides supplementary damping for low-frequency local mode, inter area, and inter unit power system oscillations. BESTCOMS software allows for easy setup and commissioning of the DECS products

Users can set up the DECS-200/200N or DECS-400 from the front panel or by PC with provided BESTCOMS Windows-based setup software, choosing from the standard stability selections or customizing their own stability selection. BESTCOMS provides the means to tune your system, commission it and provide analysis of its operation. Recent enhancements include transient boost capability and PID for field current regulation mode. The DECS-2100 is a multi-microprocessor excitation control system that provides advanced technology to precisely control, protect, and monitor synchronous generators, including new and existing applications that are driven by all types of prime movers, such as steam, gas, and hydro. Its multifunctional design allows the DECS-2100 to operate as a voltage regulator or as a static exciter, providing excitation currents up to 10,000 Adc.

Controller Configuration Tool (BESTCOMSPro)

BESTCOMSPro is an easy-to-use software tool for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining the DECS2100 Digital Excitation Control System purchased. It provides operators and maintenance personnel with password access to the operational parameters and optional configuration management of the DECS-2100 Digital Excitation System through a laptop or desktop PC. Basler Electric's Retrofit Solution for Power System Stabilizers

If a power system stabilizer is required due to geographical location, generator size or a regulating agency, Basler Electric can provide the PSS-100 Power System Stabilizer. Basler Electric's PSS-100 Power System Stabilizer is a two-input, microprocessor-based stabilizer that measures change of speed and change of power to produce the integral of accelerating power. The PSS-100 provides supplementary damping for low frequency power system oscillations ranging from 0.1 to 5.0Hz, which covers local mode, inter-area mode and inter-unit mode power system oscillations. The PSS-100 can be integrated into new or existing excitation systems.
