What is ERP for Doctors?
ERP Software is a fully integrated business management software, to link business processes automatically, and gives real time information to authorized users. It is a multi-user system of management. ERP Backed processes enable doctors to network 24*7*365 to access critical information across multiple clinics, irrespective of geographical location of doctors/clinics. There is too much of unstructured data in most clinics, in the form of prescriptions. ERP captures the entire cycle of a patients treatment right from prescriptions to treatment and the follow up.

ERP tries to address the following questions: How many patients in last month? How many OPD? How many were admitted? What is our resource utilization? Rooms, ECG, Consultations Stores? Are the medicines given to patients billed directly to patients? Are they accounted properly? How many outside doctors visited? Are such visits recorded and billed to the patient? Who are the doctors referring to our clinic?

Business Automation
Traditional Accounting packages are Financial reports centric. They are primarily designed to inform the management about the companys financial condition long after it has conducted its business. On the other hand, ERP adopts a day to day perspective. It provides strategic information and tools in REAL TIME, when the data is most required.

INPUT-OUTPUT PROCESS
ERP for Doctors / Hospitals / Clinics / Nursing Home. ERP scope list for Hospital Information System The following are some key processes which can be managed using ERP Hospital Management System. In ERP parlance, they are referred as ERP modules. Some of these or all of these processes or procedures may be applicable in your hospitals / Clinic, depending on the management requirements. We have successfully developed the following modules and procedures for healthcare establishments. This is a general list of major input and output.

Patient Information Module Masters o New patients entry Transactions: o Indoor Patient Billing o Patient Discharge entry

The features are as follows: 1. Details are captured - OPD, referral doctor, date and time of admission 2. Bill record is maintained of a particular patient i.e Total Bill amount, Advanced received till date, Payment received (in cheque or ash), Any concession given, Balance amount, break up of advance 3. Patient physical date and time of discharge is captured and final bill is prepared, taking into account about previous balances and services taken.

Stores Inventory Management (MM) Module This includes the following business processes o Inventory (medicines) Management Business process o Purchase Business process (Local procurement within India) o Import Purchase Business process

Multi-location (Location Module) This module is applicable for multi-location organization. For instance, Head office and other hospitals are located in other cities, geographical locations. Static IP address server and broadband internet connection allows user to access ERP database from anywhere / anytime. Pre-requisite Server with fixed IP address from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and firewall software is required.

Remote Connection from another computer using Internet. ERP also supports Remote Login where user can access ERP Server using Internet.

Appointment Module Receptionist to record appointment of the patients Automatic email to patient as intimation (reminder) Doctor diary will show month wise / date wise appointments.

Automatic SMS alerts module Mobile number Master for sending auto SMS from ERP. Finger print scan to capture patient identity with provision of RFID card. This can also be useful for staff attendance and link to payroll module. Payroll module.

Management Reports o Display bill status. o Visiting doctor report. o Overall summary report. Prints final bill, gives break up of medicines and injections used by patient, export to excel facility. Patient ledger report is displayed also advanced received from various patients on a particular day is displayed. This report can be transferred to an excel sheet. The visiting doctor attending various patients, type of treatment given to the patients and his visiting fees is displayed. Overall Summary report shows important parameters of Hospital important for decision making like No of Indoor Admitted, OPD patients, ICU cases, Resource bills, usage of medicines in a particular time frame.

Manual System
The manual system suffers from a lot of limitations and because of its tedious nature and high involvement of risk, it is not preferred than the more useful IT application - ERP

Server is always connected and this is the place where the entire data is stored. The various user computers are called client PCs. All the departments Billing, Inventory, Reception, Doctors Consultation are well integrated and the patients info is same throughout the organization. Unique CR recognition number is generated for each patient
