SYNOPSIS

The course focuses on the important concepts and basic principles to understand the structure and function of human body. The focus is on discussion about function and limitation of human body in response to various exercising conditions (Kursus ini memberi penekanan tentang konsep dan prinsip asas yang penting bagi memahami struktur dan fungsi tubuh manusia. Tumpuan juga diberikan kepada perbincangan mengenai fungsi dan limitasi tubuh serta kesan pelbagai tahap senaman) Jam

CONTENTS

1. Introduction to human physiology and body system Terminologies on anatomy, physiology and relationship with human functions. Organization of body system, and concept of homeostasis. 2. Body Cells and Tissues Plasma Membrane, transports system through plasma membrane, tissue types and repair process. 3. Skeletal System

Bone and skeletal functions system. Diffrent types and structure of bones. Bone formation and skeletal system division. 4. Skeletal Muscle System Types, structure and functions of skeletal muscle. Contraction and relaxation process of muscle, muscle tissue metabolisme and theory on muscle contraction. Muscle types and characteristics in relations to physical activities. 5. Respiration System Organ and mechanics of respiration. Pulmonary ventilation, O2 and CO2 - gas exchange. Gas transport and ventilation regulation. Pulmonary and ventilation regulations to exercise intensities. 6. Cardiovascular system Blood components and function, heart structure and function, cardiac cycle, ECG, cardiac output, blood circulation. Relations of cardiovascular response to different exercise intensities. 7. Nervous System Structure, functions and oranisation of nervous system, CNS response to rest and exercise intensities. 8. Endocrine system Introduction to hormone, endocrine glands and hormone response to physical activities. 9. Energy System Introduction to different energy system, energy metabolisme and energy for exercise. Muscle fatigue and the importance O2 supply in energy production.
