The University of Western Australias Accelerated Learning Laboratory (ALL@UWA) is a world-class facility for the development of leaders at all levels, in all types of organisations. Drawing on a wealth of experience in both the School of Psychology and the Business School at UWA, the Laboratory specialises in experiential learning through the use of high-fidelity simulations, and seeks to enhance a range of knowledge and skills such as problem-solving, communication, and analytical capability.

Recent examples of ALL@UWA client projects include: The production and analysis of a series of 360 degree surveys on behalf of the BGC Group. An analysis of field employee engagement for Telstra. The design and delivery of a new personal development program for MBA students at UWA. Recent examples of research projectsincludes: Why dont people design meaningful work? An analysis of natural work design tendencies. Making the right things happen in the right way: Investigating wise proactivity. Silence and voice: Who speaks out, when, and why? What individual factors promote development of confidence, well-being and proactivity over time? ALL@UWA would welcome approaches from students interested in any of the following fields: Work motivation Proactivity Leadership Job design Personality

The ALL@UWAs placements are engaging and diverse, and provide students with the opportunity to be involved strategically at all levels of a project.

The Centre for Safety exists to supports research in a variety oforganisational contexts, with a particular focus on preventing major accidents in complex systems. It consolidates the various faculties, schools and centres contributing to safety across the University, and offers a multidisciplinary approach to research, education and policy development, enabling integrated problem solutions for complex industry issues, and the creation of next generation toolsandprograms.

Examples of recent Centre for Safety client projects include: A safety capability needs analysis for Rio Tinto Customised safety leadership training for WesCEF Design and delivery of Occupational Health and Safety training for IM4DC Recent examples of research projects include: Linking maintenance practices to business safety, maintenance and operational outcomes. Measuring cultural lead indicators. Improving risk awareness and perception Interventions to improve decision making in control room operators The Centre would welcome contact fromstudents interested in any of the following areas: Leadership and governance Assets and technology Health and human performance Environment and public safety

Working on the OSH course has provided me with a unique opportunity to see research in action.
