Grace from God in the Old Testament:

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Exodus 33:12--
12 And Moses said unto the Lord, “See, Thou sayest unto me, ‘bring up this people’: and Thou hast not
let me know whom Thou wilt send with me. Yet Thou hast said, ‘I know thee by name, and thou hast
also found grace in My sight’”.
Exodus 33:13--
13 “Now therefore, I pray Thee, if I have found grace in Thy sight, show me now Thy way, that I may
know Thee, that I may find grace in Thy sight: and consider that this nation is Thy people.”

16 “For wherein shall it be known here that I and Thy people have found grace in Thy sight? Is it not in
that Thou goest with us? So shall we be separated, I and Thy people, from all the people that are upon the
face of the Earth.”

4 Then were assembled unto me every one that trembled at the words of the God of Israel, because of the
transgression of those that had been carried away; and I sat astounded until the evening sacrifice. 5 And
at the evening sacrifice I arose up from my heaviness; and having rent my garment and my mantle, I fell
upon my knees, and spread out my hands unto the Lord my God, 6 and said, “O my God, I am ashamed
and blush to lift up my face to Thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our
trespass is grown up unto the heavens. 7 Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass
unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of
the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.
8 And now for a little space grace hath been showed from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to
escape, and to give us a nail in His holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little
reviving in our bondage. 9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but
hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house
of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.”

1

Surely He scorneth the scorners: but He giveth grace unto the lowly.

Jeremiah 31:2--
2 Thus saith the Lord, “The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even
Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

Zechariah 12:10--
10 “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace
and of supplications: and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for
Him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for Him, as one that is in bitterness for
his firstborn.”

Grace from God the Father in Jesus Christ:

God was upon Him.

His grace, 16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; immediately I
conferred not with flesh and blood:
Galatians 2:19-21--
19 For I through the Law am dead to the Law, that I might live unto God. 20 I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the
faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me. 21 I do not frustrate the grace of God:
for if righteousness come by the Law, then Christ is dead in vain.
1 Timothy 1:12-17--
12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me
into the ministry; 13 who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy,
because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith
and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ
Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. 16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained
mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might show forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should
hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. 17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only
wise God, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.

me [Apostle Paul], they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto
the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
2 Corinthians 1:12--
12 For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and Godly sincerity, not
with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more
abundantly to you-ward.

of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Ephesians 3:7-8--
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual

measure of faith.
Romans 12:6--
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy
according to the proportion of faith;

Gospel of the grace of God.
2 Corinthians 12:9--
9 And He [God] said unto me, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in
weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest
upon me.

Grace for New Testament believers:

Acts 18:27-28--
27 And when he [Apollos] was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to
receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace: 28 for he
mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the Scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by His [God the
Father’s] grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 4:15-16--
15 Because the Law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. 16 Therefore it is of
faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which
is of the Law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Romans 5:1-2--
1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 by Whom
also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:15--
15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much
more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by One Man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto
many.
Romans 5:17--
17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace
and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:20--
20 Moreover the Law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much
more abound: 21 that as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness
unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:14-15--
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under grace.
15 What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the Law, but under grace? God forbid.
Romans 11:5-6--
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works,
then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
1 Peter 1:10-13--
10 Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace
that should come unto you: 11 searching what, or what manner of time the spirit of Christ which was in
them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which
are now reported unto you by them that have preached the Gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent
down from Heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your
mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the Revelation of Jesus
Christ;
2 Corinthians 4:14-15--
14 Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us
with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of
many redound to the glory of God.

4
2 Corinthians 8:9--
9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became
poor, that ye through His poverty might be rich.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8--
6 But this I say, “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully
shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not
grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound
toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Ephesians 2:4-10--
But God, Who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in
sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, by grace ye are saved; 6 and hath raised us up together, and
made us sit together in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus: 7 that in the ages to come He might show the
exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace are ye
saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should
boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before
ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 4:7--
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
2 Thessalonians 2:14-17--
14 Whereunto He called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15
Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or
our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and
hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 comfort your hearts, and stablish
you in every good word and work.
2 Timothy 1:8-9--
8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner: but be thou
partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel according to the power of God; 9 Who hath saved us, and called
us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which
was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Titus 2:11-14--
11 For the grace of God that bringeth Salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 teaching us that, denying
unGodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13
looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a
peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 3:4-7--
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of
regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ
our Saviour; 7 that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal
life.
James 4:5-8--
5 Do ye think that the Scripture saith in vain, the Spirit [the Holy Spirit] that dwelleth in us lusteth to
envy? 6 But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto
the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw
nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye
double minded.
1 Peter 5:5--
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and
be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1 Peter 5:10-11--
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have
suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To Him be glory and dominion for

5
ever and ever. Amen. 12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly,
exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

Away from divine grace:

2 Corinthians 6:1--
1 We then, as workers together with Him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
Galatians 1:6--
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another
gospel:

4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the Law; ye are fallen from
grace.
Hebrews 10:28-31--
28 He that despised Moses' Law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer
punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and
hath counted the blood of the Covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done
despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him that hath said, “Vengeance belongeth unto me, I
will recompense”, saith the Lord. And again, the Lord shall judge His people. 31 It is a fearful thing to
fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 12:15-17--
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up
trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who
for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have
inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully
with tears.
James 1:10-11--
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. 11 For the
sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and
the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
Jude 1:3-4--
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to
write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered
unto the saints. 4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this
condemnation, unGodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only
Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

blessings in Heavenly places in Christ: 4 according as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of
the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto
the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the

ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
Proverbs 3:21-22--
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: 22 so shall they be
life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
Proverbs 4:7-9--
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8 Exalt
her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. 9 She shall
give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
Acts 4:33-35--
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace
was upon them all. 34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of
lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, 35 and laid them down at
the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
Colossians 1:5-6--
5 For the hope which is laid up for you in Heaven, whereof ye heard before in the Word of the truth of the
Gospel; 6 which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you,
since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

Observed grace of human beings:

Psalms 45:2--
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee
for ever.
Proverbs 22:11--

Acts 11:22-23--
22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent
forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch. 23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of
God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
2 Corinthians 8:6-7--
6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace
also. 7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all
diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
2 Corinthians 8:17-19--
But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you. 17 For indeed he
accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you. 18 And we have
sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the Gospel throughout all the churches; 19 and not that only,
but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to
the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:

2 Corinthians 9:14--
14 And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

every man.

Exhortations related to God’s grace:

Acts 13:43--
43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul
and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

Hebrews 4:14-16--
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, Who is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let
us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling
of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come
boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 12:28-29--
28 Wherefore we receiving a Kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve
God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear: 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 13:8-9--
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange
doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not
profited them that have been occupied therein.

1 Peter 3:7-9--
7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto
the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered. 8
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be
courteous: 9 not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye
are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

1 Peter 4:10--
10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the
manifold grace of God.
