Topic outline:

Literacy: in this topic all the children will write personal and persuasive letters in the context of a Victorian child; which will lead on to writing letters to friends about charities. We will be thinking about adverbial phrases, using varied sentences and using higher level punctuation effectively throughout our work. Mathematics: in maths we will be learning how to order numbers up to 2 decimal places, understand and use place value, using the four operations (add, subtract, times and divide) to help solve a range of problems. E.g. Can you order these numbers? O, 12, 1.2, 18 and 3. Science: in science we will be finding out about how medicine has developed from the Victorian era to the modern day. We will be linking this to the heart and lungs: comparing the working conditions of then and now.
