Any Contributor can become a WholoShip; there are no special requirements, other than to have shown a willingness and ability to participate in the manifest-stream as a team player. Typically, a potential member will need to show that they have an understanding of the project, its objectives and its strategy. Most importantly, they need to demonstrate that they are aligned with the projects core principles and values. They will also have provided valuable contributions over a period of time. Contributors are nominated for membership by other members. In addition to their actions as Contributors, Members will find themselves doing the following; nominating contributors for membership and voting on Core Team Membership.

The Core Wholomid creates an innovative new work environment. We are looking for this be five dimensions in size, sufficient to moderate the Whole. Wholoteam members have equal voice, equal access to information with agreed upon decision making rules. Work flows quickly in the direction that the most active people are taking it. Decisions about what needs to get done and who is going to do it are done in a efficient synoptic manner. Not everyone has to vote. And those who show up are the ones who influence what happens. People choose what to work on freely, not based on what they are told to do, but based on what is important to the team and they feel inspired to complete. These inspiration-based work principles are the same methods that allow unfunded, volunteer-run open source developers to successfully compete with massive-commercial enterprises. If this sounds like jargon and overly ethereal, it is because it is different from control paradigm methods thus difficult to initially comprehend.

The Core WholoTeams consists of those individuals identified as manifeststream representatives. The Core Team has additional responsibilities over and above those of a member. These responsibilities ensure the smooth running of the Whole. Core Team Members participate in strategic planning, approve changes to the governance model and formally represent the project to the outside world to name a few charges.

First and foremost, they are the guardians and keepers of principles and values and are accountable to all stakeholders. They naturally adhere to Principled Awareness. Core WholoTeam Members do not have significant authority over other members of the community, although it is the Core WholoTeam who can vote new core members. In addition to their actions as members, Core Team Members will also find themselves doing the following; i-voting on changes to the governance model and nominating Members to the Core Team

How does one become part of the Core Team? Membership of the Core Team is by invitation from the existing Core Team members. If you are a core team member, you can nominate another member to Core Team by going to the Team tab and clicking Nominate to Core next to the persons name. A nomination will result in discussion and then a vote by existing members of the enterprise. Core Team membership votes are subject to unanimous consensus approval of Members. Unanimous consensus votes last for a time, and at the end of that time all of the binding votes that are cast must be agree and there can be no disagree votes or vetoes (binding block votes). How can I know who is a contributor, member, and core team? You can see each persons role by visiting the Team tab. There will be a list of all the people involved in the manifeststeam. To the right of the name lists the role and since when they have been a part of that manifeststream.

Core Wholos are a way of tracking contribution and rewarding Wholomid development. When core Wholos are activated in a manifest-stream, they are then used to track, record and make transparent the efforts of each team member. Work items are counted in HoloNote Units of results or completions and as Manifeststreams are completed, disbursed. Retrospectives conducted, HoloNotes valuated based on peer ratings.

HoloNotes are used to track relative contributions. Wholos are exchanged for contributions. Estimations is based on the groups judgment and records. Retrospectives make compensation based upon peer review. Compensation can be more fair, awarding those that do great work and not rewarding those that park in jobs without earning their position. There is also a freedom that allows people to contribute at the level that they are able and be rewarded accordingly.

Motions and discussions are included in the Dashboard. Each manifeststream and submanifeststream has its own interconnected dashboard. Each has separate dashboards and action items. These are broadcast as signals to the Whole for action. All action items can be found in the manifeststreams and submanifeststream.

The dashboard is a good place to see an overview of all the work and take action directly. You can create an item, vote, estimate, prioritize, start, join, finish and accept or reject an item From the dashboard you can also open up a lightbox window within the window, where you can see the details of an item, including full history, discussion, status, creator, owner and more. From the lightbox, you can take all the actions that you would in the dashboard, voting, estimation, etc. With the lightbox when you are done you can close it and you are back on the dashboard where you left off.

Can I add someone to an Manifeststream? Yes, you can both add people and remove people from your team for a particular action item. Open up the lightbox view of an In Progress Item. Under Joined By a link to Add Someone. Select from the drop down menu of the members and contributors to the enterprise. Invite them to the manifeststream.

Can anyone vote, estimate or prioritize? Yes, anyone who has access to a manifest-stream can vote, estimate or prioritize. However, only the votes of the members will be binding.

All votes/estimates/priorities of contributors will be non-binding. The non-binding votes will appear in the record; however they will not be factored into the advancement, estimation or prioritization. The only votes that will make an impact will be the binding votes. This system allows you to get a sense of the larger communitys opinion, however ultimately you and your Wholoteam members are the ones that determine the direction of the project. Can anyone create an item? Yes, anyone can create an item. This means we are able to capture everyones ideas, both good and bad. But your team then gets to vote on what is a good idea and what is a high priority. This feature brings richness and diversity of perspective to the work. If an item has had no activity for some period a Cancel button appears and this item can then be canceled by any core member. Every dashboard has the ability to search within that dashboard for a particular item. Filters that allow you sort everything on the dashboard by useful views, such as Items that I didnt touch, Needs my agreement, Updated in last week, and Only show Bugs. options in the drop down And when you are done, you can go back to the full view by selecting Filter (show all).

What control is over the work? Control is exercised by the Wholoteam as they vote on items. Every team member gets an equal voice on this platform, and manages each other. While anyone can create an item and anyone can start an item, you and your team control what works is open to be started and also whether work is accepted or rejected. Quality is controlled in the end product through the accept and reject. Prototype Speed is enhanced. In addition, if you are the owner of a work item, you have control over who is on your team. In this democracy of ideas, great ideas can come from anywhere and the team drives the project forward and you truly work together to make it all happen. How do Manifeststream items advance from one queue to the next? Items move when there are more agrees than againsts or more accepts than rejects, and the speed at which they move depends on the value/complexity with the smaller items moving faster. It is more complicated than that. The more detailed answerVoting on the Dashboard functions using lazy majority. Lazy majority is a vote that is open for some days and at the end of the days if there are more yes than nos than an item advances. This means that those who show up to vote, drive the direction of the work, and there is no waiting for unanimity. The exception to the days of waiting are: if the majority of active members on that workstream have voted yes, than the item advances before the days are up if the difference between yes and no votes is greater than half.

When someone blocks an item - this stops an item and any member has that power. But a block requires an explanation, and used with respect. Examples: 4 active members and 3 have voted yes in day 1, then the item moves forward if an item is estimated at 3 dice complexity, and 2 members have voted yes, than the item advances if an item is estimated at 6 dice value, and 5 members voted yes and 1 voted no, the difference is 4 which is greater than 6/2=3, therefore the item advances. if an item is estimated at 1 dice value, only one person needs to vote yes and it advances Note - the above logic applies to voting agree/against when an item is New or Open OR when an item is done and needs to be accepted/rejected. Therefore a yes vote would be agree or accept, and a no vote would be against or rejected.
