C o n c e p t
Exploiting what is actually there and amalgamating those qualities with a new structure that cont a i n s a l l f l e d g i n g u n i v e r s i t y, s t u d e n t , a n d c o m m u n a l n e e d s w h i l e a d d i t i o n a l l y p r o m o t i n g i n t e r a c tion. The facility is comprised of components which can be programmed in a variety of ways for e i t h e r p r i v a t e o r p u b l i c f u n c t i o n s . T h e r e s u l t i n g s t r u c t u r e p r o m o t e s i n t e r a c t i o n b e t w e e n t h e c i t y s various communities at all levels of the urban surround. The envelope of the building is made of glass which opens up in key locations for optimal sunlight and to defend prevailing winds. The iconic college facility is re-envisioned as a horizotal layering embedded seamlessly into the campus to promote circulation in the interior and exterior through outlined central nodes. Programming for primary/large spaces is extended in square fotage to allow appropriate facility usage.

The variating columns (16 and 10) are preserved from the Architecture building.
The resulting floors include a ramping system is formed to accomodate alternating levels.
With the addition of secondary programs, the dorms that were removed are re-inserted back in.
Following the addition of the Performing Arts arm, the facility is formed.
