SCHIZOPHRENIA
A L O V E A F FA I R ( PA R T- 2 )
Every man daydreams. One may look at it as more of a birthright. It's also one of nature's wonderful ways of diffusing the mental stress and fatigue, built up in the human brain, by life's daily worries and problems. For limited spans ,daydreaming is harmless , but there are chances of it becoming addictive ,when resorted to , for prolonged periods. There is an unwritten law, that the time , spent in daydreaming, by an individual, is directly proportional , to the degree of stress, being then undergone , by his brain. If left unchecked, it acquires the form of pseudoreality, pushing out one's normal thought processes. A person, who to seek relief from his mental pain, starts living in a world of his own make- belief, is medically termed, as a schizophrenic, by our psychiatrists. Mine, simply put , was such a case. I don't claim to be a rare victim of mental suffering .There are millons of others , who have undergone , or are undergoing , far greater mental anguish, than I ever did . As the Christians say, every man , has his own cross, to carry . I may just put it, my misery was unduly prolonged, and I was comparatively more vulnerable to mental pressure. There was not just one factor that helped me overcome this debilitating thought process. I'll share my redeeming features with the readers , in due course, as we carry on , with this (schizophrenic) love affair. My road to recovery was facilitated by two factors. One , my own efforts to regain my original level of normalcy, and secondly, the efforts of my family and friends, to help me, achieve my goal. I'll recount, the contribution , made in this respect , by my near and dear ones, first. As I have mentioned earlier, schizophrenia is a silent entrant. It's quite similar in some ways , to the physical disease, multiple sclerosis(ms) . Multiple sclerosis also has a silent onset , and to start with, causes paralysis , in patches , in the victim's organs . One may have multiple sclerosis and still , carry on, being physically active , for long periods . However , slowly , the paralysis , spreads to ultimately cover the whole body (except the brain), leading to total bodily collapse .Schizophrenia , fortunately (of my type at least), with drugs and affectionate care ,is reversible , and leaves large areas of the brain totally untouched. Coconut

oconut water is the juice in the interior or endosperm of young coconut. Its water is one of the nature's most refreshing drinks, has nutiritious and health benefiting properties. Each nut may contain about 200 to 1000 ml of water. Nuts younger than five months of age tend to be bitter in taste and devoid of nutrients. In contrast, mature nuts contain less water and their endosperm thickens quickly to whit edible meat (kernel). Coconut milk obtained from the meat should not be confused with coconut water.

Metabolic syndrome refers to a collection of issues including obesity, increased blood glucose levels, elevated fasting triglycerides and low cholesterol levels, and hypertension. It leads to an increase in the risk of developing of cardiovascular disease (CVD), type 2 diabetes, and cancer. It can therefore occur as a pre-diseased state. The development of metabolic syndrome is primarily caused by a sedentary(dull) lifestyle and overnutrition. Daily exercise habit and physical fitness level are associated with a reduction in risk of metabolic syndrome, independently of body fat level and promote healthy aging. Exercise drastically changes various physiological parameters ? Hormone production, blood ? ow ? The activity of the nervous system ? Altering the activity of certain genes and proteins in the skeletal muscle ? Regular exercise leads to permanent beneficial adaptations ? Exercise at least once a week, reduces the relative risk of type 2 diabetes ? Exercise sessions of 3060 min in a week have shown reduced fat mass and improves insulin sensitivity without dietary caloric restriction in overweight men and women ? Prevents age-associated loss of body mass ? It significantly decreases hemoglobin levels in people with an abnormal glucose metabolism and has a tendency to improve lipoprotein-lipid profiles ? Regular exercise decreases plasma levels of triglyceride and HDL cholesterol and lowers blood pressure Effects of Combining Food Factors with Exercise Therapy ? Enhances the reduction of body fat due to exercise training ? The protein requirement for people performing exercises is higher. The daily recommended protein intake is estimated to be 1.41.8 g/kg for those performing exercise when the intake of calories and carbohydrates is adequate ? Eating protein immediately after exercise is more effective, in terms of increasing protein synthesis, compared with several hours later. ? Japanese green tea accelerates the utilization of fatty acids as an energy source for skeletal muscle contraction during exercise ? Antioxidants increases glucose transport in the skeletal muscle.Combined with exercise training, further accelerates glucose uptake and activity of the insulin signaling pathway compared with training alone ? Caffeine affects energy metabolism. It leads to an increase in circulating free fatty acids and a further improvement in endurance. ? Hot red peppers enhances fat metabolism by increasing hormones and promoting fat oxidation in the skeletal muscle ? Proteins Combined with carbohydrates accelerates the increase in muscle mass and strength ? The intake of amino acids and peptides is bene? cial

ROAD RAGE T

raffic Congestion, Running Late, Disregard for Others and for the Law, noise levels, weather conditions, Habit Or Behavior, in general "Road Raging" involves menace/risk provoking activities that lead to uncontrolled anger occurring just within the roadways environment.

AGGRESSIVE DRIVING & ROAD RAGE INDICATIONS: Not obeying traffic safety rules because you don't agree with them. ENGAGE IN AGGRESSIVE AND RISKY DRIVING: Following too close. ? Forming a "convoy" to block access to a traffic lane. ? ? Rude gestures. ? Verbal abuse. ? Deliberately hitting another person, vehicle or object with one's own vehicle.
? Verbally expressing anger towards other drivers, to

passengers in own vehicle.

? Speeding and Aggressive Acceleration. ? Threatening to use a deadly weapon. ? Weaving in and out of traffic. ? Speeding up to beat a traffic light. ? Cutting between vehicles to change lanes. ? Using the horn excessively. ? Flashing headlights excessively at oncoming traffic or

Honking the vehicle's horn.

? Hitting a person or vehicle with a weapon other than a

vehicle.
? Braking to get others to back off your bumper. ? Passing another driver, then slowing to teach them a

lesson.

SAFETY TIPS
We all are very well aware that personal ? frustration, anger, and impatience may be the most dangerous act on the roads/highway. So act normal when driving. ? Allow plenty of time for the trip, listen to soothing music, improve the comfort in your vehicle, and understand that you cannot control the traffic, only your reaction to it. ? Be polite and courteous, even if the other driver is not. Avoid all conflict if possible. If another driver challenges you, take a deep breath and move out of the way. Never underestimate the other driver's capacity. ? When entering traffic or changing lanes, make sure that you have enough room. ? Make sure you have established a safe following distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
? Don't make aggressive hand gestures to the

other drivers when they offend you with their driving. ? Signal when turning or changing lanes. ? Control your anger; remember it takes two to start a fight. ? Avoid prolonged eye contact with the bad or angry driver. ? Put yourself in the other driver's shoes. They may be driving that way because of an actual emergency! ? Get help. Call police on your cell phone or go to a public telephone or place. Don't pull to the side of the road. ? Forget about winning. No one wins in a highway crash. ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER

ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed behavioral disorder of childhood. It affects about 3 - 5% of school aged children. ADHD is diagnosed much more often in boys than in girls. ADHD may run in families, but it is not clear exactly what causes it. Whatever the cause may be, it seems to be set in motion early in life as the brain is developing. Imaging studies suggest that the brains of children with ADHD are different from those of other children.Depression, lack of sleep, learning disabilities, tic disorders, and behavior problems may be confused with, or appear with, ADHD. Every child suspected of having ADHD should be carefully examined by a doctor to rule out possible other conditions or reasons for the behavior.

SYMPTOMS
The symptoms of ADHD fall into three groups: Lack of attention (Inattentiveness) Hyperactivity Impulsive Behavior (Impulsivity)

INATTENTIVE SYMPTOMS
? Fails to give close attention to details or makes

careless mistakes in schoolwork. ? Has difficulty keeping attention during tasks or play. ? Does not seem to listen when spoken to directly. ? Does not follow through on instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, Chores or Duties in the workplace. ? Has difficulty organizing tasks and activities. ? Avoids or dislike tasks that require sustained mental effort (Such as schoolwork). ? Often lose toys, assignments, pencil, books, or tools needed for tasks or activities. ? Is easily distracted. ? Is often forgetful in daily activities.

HYPERACTIVE SYMPTOMS
? Fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat ? Leaves seat when remaining seated is expected ? Runs about or climbs inappropiate situations ? Has difficulty playing quietly ? Is often "on the go", acts as if "driven by a motor", talks excessively

IMPULSIVITY SYMPTOMS
? Blurts out answers before questions have been completed ? Has difficulty awaiting turn ? Interrupts or intrudes on others (Butts into conversation or games)
