2.1 Every nurse working in GDC hospital should be given equal opportunity for professional development. Effective training should include all training methods. 2.2 Every nurse should be aware of the importance of keeping up to date nursing knowledge adequate to the new requirements and regulations of HAAD. 2.3 The necessary documentation is to be maintained by Director of Nursing and the HR Department. 3. SCOPE 3.1 Training and staff development for nurses in Gulf Diagnostic Center Hospital. 4. RESPONSIBILITY 4.1 All employees within Nursing Department 4.2 HR Department 5. PROCEDURE 5.1 Identification of learning needs. 5.1.1 To establish basic knowledge of nurses training/educational needs survey should be performed every six months and follow the results (by DON and charge nurse). Committee. 5.1.2 All survey activities to be done by proper form and the results are to be kept for at least one year. 5.2 Planning training/development activities. 5.2.1 Plan for Nursing Staff professional Development program is to be prepared every six months by the Director of Nursing and submitted to Medical Director and management representative. 5.2.2 Monthly activity report for Nursing Staff Professional Development program is to be prepared until the 5 th day of every month. Original is to be kept with director of Nursing and copy to be submitted to MD and HR. 5.3 Nursing Staffing Professional Development Program includes the following program: 5.3.1 Orientation program 5.3.2 Mandatory nursing competencies 5.3.3 Updates study day 5.3.4 On the job training

5.3.5 Self learning packages 5.3.6 Case study sessions (could be unscheduled) 5.3.7 Practical training and cross training 5.3.8 Seminar, conferences and events outside GDC Hospital 5.4 It is the responsibility of the individual to persuade all aspects of the established program. 5.5 Record of training 5.5.1 Nurses who perform specific training assignment are qualified as education expertise to do so. 5.5.2 Nurses attending any training activity should sign on the training record form. 5.5.3 Nurses attending educational events out of GDC have to submit the certificate copy to the DON and HR. 5.5.4 Mandatory nursing competency must be organized and offered by DON and link nurses and have to be documented on special form available 5.5.5 Orientation programs are available in each unit after the staff signature; the forms is kept with charge nurse, DON and HR. 5.5.6 All documents regarding NSPDP should be available in DON office and HR office. 6.
