To put the matter in right perspective, major technological features which have been incorporated in the mill are given below: Reheating furnace with moving hearth for uniform heating and low scale formation, with input size of 160 x 160 mm billet to give better grain size, shape and distribution in the finish product due to high reduction ratio. De - Scalar before roughing mill to remove scale formed during reheating to avoid imbedded scale in the final product and achieve better surface finish. Intermediate rolling on Horizontal - Vertical roll configuration to give better control during rolling due to no twist arrangement.

DELTA type ten stand wire rod block, which is based upon years of hands on experience by the staff employed at Morgardshammar and embrace knowledge of roll pass design. No-Housing Stand with high axial and radial rigidity to enable high speed - low temperature rolling. Extremely limited deflection facilitates very close tolerances on the rolled product, even under very high rolling loads.

 The cooling bed of wire rod has arrangement of Quenching, Forced Cooling as well as Retarded Cooling to achieve grain size/ structure and mechanical properties for different grades.
