Mechanical improvements define 2014 Jetta

The Jetta remains Volkswagens best-selling car, but VW never rests on success and is continuously striving to make its vehicles even better. Under hood, the 2.5-liter fivecylinder engine in the SE and SEL trim lines has been replaced by a new 1.8-liter turbocharged and directinjection four-cylinder engine. The engine makes 170 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. VWs engineers also made some other significant mechanical improvements for 2014. On the cars fitted with the available 1.8T engine, the hydraulic power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering has been replaced by an electric-assist system, in line with the TDI and GLI models. All 2014 Jetta models now have a multilink rear suspension, replacing the previous torsion-beam layout. Inside, the Media Device Interface cable has been relocated from the glovebox to the center console, while SEL, TDI with Premium, and TDI with Premium and Navigation trims receive a rearview camera. The SE with Connectivity and Sunroof adds Keyless access with push-button start. A navigation system and automatic transmission are now standard on the SEL. Volkswagen introduces its VW Car-Net connected services on the 2014 Jetta lineup. VW Car-Net offers a wealth of security and convenience features, including Automatic Crash Notification, roadside assistance, and stolen vehicle location assistance. In addition, VW Car-Net adds: remote vehicle access; boundary and speed alerts; a vehicle health report; and an enhanced POI service on vehicles equipped with a navigation system. Most of the features can be administered through a handy smartphone app. At the front, the coupe-like incline of the windscreen and the consistent use of horizontal lines define the Jettas design. The horizontal blades in the grille, together with the blades in the lower intake, are designed to make the Jetta appear wider and more dynamic. New features, roomy interior for 2013 Escape

The 2013 Ford Escape has 11 new exclusive features. In addition to more cargo volume behind the first and second rows, the new Escape delivers clever technologies that make Escape even more versatile, including an available hands-free power liftgate. Escape offers Fords broadest nameplate range of EcoBoost engine choices yet. Strong fuel economy comes from either the available 2.0liter EcoBoost engine or 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine. Both new engines combine EcoBoosts core technologies of direct fuel injection and turbocharging and add twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) to deliver even better miles per gallon and save customers money on fuel. In Escape, EcoBoost engines are mated to specially calibrated, six-speed SelectShift Automatic transmissions, which are standard and allow drivers who want more hands-on experiences to manually control gear selection from a switch on the left-hand side of the shifter. The standard engine is an updated 2.5-liter, giving the new Escape a comprehensive lineup of fourcylinder offerings. It also is matched to a SelectShift Automatic six-speed. Also aiding fuel economy is Escapes sleeker design. The new model is nearly 10 percent more aerodynamic than the outgoing model. Subaru introduces the all-new 2014 Forester, the fourth generation of its popular all-wheel drive crossover SUV. The Forester debuts a bolder exterior design and roomier interior, along with improved performance and higher fuel economy across the line. The five-passenger 2014 Subaru Forester is a total re-design of the acclaimed crossover SUV thats built a strong reputation for safety, performance, dependability and versatility. With virtually the same footprint as the outgoing model, the 2014 Forester offers expanded room, comfort and utility. A new 250-horsepower 2.0liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine leads the line, which also includes models powered by a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter naturally aspirated BOXER engine. The 2014 Forester comes standard with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a distinction from competitive models that come with front-wheel drive as standard and offer all-wheel drive as an extra-cost option. The 2014 Forester combines evolutionary design themes with sharply defined new details in an all-new body. For the 2013 model year, engineers for the Jeep Wrangler the most capable and recognized vehicle in the world focused their attention on interior ergonomics and 4x4 capability.
