Job Description

POSITION: Status: Reports to: Job Summary: Stand Up Placer Safe House provide comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Placer County, Crisis Counselors facilitate services in the safe house for battered women and their children, crisis intervention both in person and by telephone, assistance in obtaining emergency food, clothing, transportation, individual and group counseling, and legal advocacy and accompaniment. They are our frontline in addressing complex needs of this vulnerable population. Skills, Knowledge and Ability: Set and maintain appropriate boundaries Relate effectively with professionals, the community and clients Ability to address crises and problem-solve effectively Awareness of and sensitivity to the cultures represented in Placer County Safe House Crisis Counselor Non-Exempt Safe House Manager

Essential Functions: Meet with clients on a weekly basis to provide case management Respond to Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault crisis line calls Accurately and thoroughly document contact with safe house residents and crisis callers Attend agency staff meetings and trainings Work on house or program needs during downtime Connect survivors with appropriate resources Meet agency standards in regards to professionalism, safety and service delivery when interacting with clients, community members, agency staff and the general public

Education 60 Units of college level coursework in psychology, social science, or related field, or at least two years combination of education and experience. Bilingual Spanish Preferred Additional Requirements Reliable transportation with valid California drivers license Clean driving record Current auto insurance Fingerprint clearance required Completion and maintenance of Crisis Intervention Training (post hire requirement) Ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays
