Knowing why you want to achieve your goal, and why you can achieve it. Creating an action plan for achieving your goal. Taking action, and noticing the feedback as you move towards achieving it. The TRADE model can be useful in helping you to identify your goals and plan their accomplishment. Practical Strategy: TRADE to Success Target what specifically do you want to achieve? When, where, with whom? How will you know when you have achieved this? Write your goal in the positive: what you want and not what you are trying to avoid. Reasons why is achieving this goal important to you? (Think back to STRATEGY 4, and designing your life. Think also in terms, though, of personal excellence and improvement.) Action what action will you take/what needs to happen? Are there any possible obstacles? Do take action! Evaluate when and how will you keep track of your progress?
