BIOGRAPHY
I started making films at the age of 14 using a small DV camera and my brother's PC. At college I enjoyed working on all kinds of projects, varying from stop motion animation to sketch comedy. In recent years I have been working towards a career in screenwriting. My influences range from Lynne Ramsay to French and Saunders to Andrew Davis and Pawel Pawlikowski. I enjoy creating realistic characters and positioning them in unusual situations. I am particularly drawn to female protagonists though I also relish writing ensemble pieces. I have a keen enthusiasm for new British filmmaking and feel that the restrictions often felt by the UK film industry result in a determination that produces some of the most noteworthy of films.

(2013) Short Film Written/Directed As the half term holidays crawl by in a sleepy village Sarah meets tomboy Ellen and experiences her first real crush. But what does this mean for pretty and perfect Sarah and just how real is their time together? Pickering has been submitted to several film festivals.

LANE

(2010) Screenplay A half hour piece, Lane tells the story of a bright young woman stuck working a menial job, unappreciated by her dependent family. When she stumbles upon and helps a stranger whose life is under threat, she finds herself making the life changing decision to finally move away but will her needy mother prevent her escape? *Screenplay short listed for the BBC Writersroom Future Talent Award reaching the top 9 scripts*

(2009) Short Film Written/Directed Fifteen minute short produced in Toronto, Canada. Chasing dips into the world of Emily, a messed up girl who wanders the highway aimlessly. The film was shot on DVCProHD and independently financed. *Chasing was screened as part of Femme Fantasquies selection at the London Short Film Festival 2011, it also screened at the Branchage Film Festival Film Festival and the London Young Film Festival*

KEYS

(2007) Short Film Written/Directed Five minute short, Keys explores changing and reversing genre expectations.

SLATE

Im currently building up my portfolio of writing, working on September June July August, a festure screenplay set in Brighton that explores a young man torn between social morality and family ties.This screenplay was script developed in association with the Script Development Course run by the Script Factory and the NFTS. Im also working on Quarter Life Crisis a dramedy TV pilot that looks at a young womans struggle with everyday life living in modern day London. As well as Picture House a 45 minutes radio p lay set in a ancient Picture House and featuring Don, a downtrodden projectionist.
