The Ring Testing are including two points: RSTP (Rapid-Spanning-Tree Protocol) testing for the two path in the ring between Core (BSC) center and the loop back in the far and End site, in the next slides showing the steps of this testing. NPU Testing including Ethernet Switch protection test, as showing in the capture screen

Tools and instruments required: EXFO/FTB-1 device. Loop Back device. Personal computer PC.
1. 2. 3.
RSTP procedure testing is done by the two teams; Team1 is fixed in Core (BSC) center, And the other team2 is moving from site to site after finishing the test for each far end site in the ring.
Team1 in the Core (BSC) center are connecting the tester EXFO/FTB-1 device to the port TR:6 in the NPU card.
Configuration NPU LAN port in the each side Near end Far end side.
Team2 connecting loop back device in the far end side on NPU port TR.6
Team1 checking the loop connection from Core (BSC) center to the far and side by the EXFO/FTB-1 device and running the pinging to be sure there is the right loop in the far end side.
Team1 will turn off the transmitter TX of any link in the ring between Core center to the far and side, to get open ring, so the far end loop connection will be contacted to the Core center by one path links only, as showing in the below drawing :
Team1 starting the RSTP test and recording during the test these three terms:
Throughput, Frame
Loss, Latency,
The RSTP results might be PASS or Failed, and the results will be recorded and saved as PDF file in the EXFO/FTB-1 device memory.
Team1 will turn on the transmitter TX of the link again in the first path, Turn off the transmitter TX of any link in the second path in same ring.
Team1 starting the RSTP test for tPath also and recording will mention during the testing three terms:
Throughput, Frame Loss, Latency,
Team1 will turn on the transmitter TX of the link again in the second path, and the ring will be closed.
Team1 starting NPU Ethernet switching protection test in the far end side, for both NPU (active and passive) after running the pinging in the EXFO/FTB-1 device to observing the transferring process between the two NPUs.
ALL these steps above will be repeated for each links in the rings between Core (BSC) center far side & end side.
