NARRATIVE ESSAY Question : Write your story beginning with " My heart beat frantically as I made my way to the

principals office " My heart beat frantically as I made my way to the principal's office . My mind could not figure out what would be the possible consequences and punishment from the principal.I am guilty and there is no way the principal can forgive me.I told myself. I felt like I was going to be given a very stern punishment. Then I tried to figure out why I was in this mess. It story started when my mom gave birth to a new baby boy in our family . I was in cloud nine that day as my father told me that I have a new brother . "Wohoo ! " I shouted. I put the phone back to its original place after Ispoke to my dad. I was not really myself that day . I shook hands with all the students in my classroom.I could see they were starring at me with strange faces. Most of my classmates were baffled initially untilI told them about this new brother. Then slowly one by one stood up and congratulated me.So I told them I would persuade my dad to throw a small party over the weekend to celebrate this occasion.Everyone was looking forward to this occasion. In my classroom,I was commonly known as a quiet and shy boy.I didnt talk too much unless someone asked me to. But today, after that good news,I completely change myself.I was just like a character of a "wood-pecker" as I made a lot of annoying noises in the class . Kring ! Kring !.The bellrang and it was time to go home. I quickly packed all my stuff into my school bag and ran towards the main gate with a fantastic speed . I could not wait to get home to meet my newborn brother . After five minutes,I felt bored. I walked around the school compund . While walking, I could see something that caught my eyes.I picked up five bottles of wood-sprayer in various colour which are commonly used by PMR students for their Life Skill''s carpenting projects. Then,I ran to a new building at a compound nearby. The building was almost completed and most of the classrooms were already used. There was another one room left and the school management wasnt sure of what should be done to that empty room . Without hesitation, Spurshhhhhhh ... ! I started spraying at the main door.It reads, Welcome to the world of Arts "with a combination of two vivid colours in graffity style. It looked catchy as the backround of the door was lily-white . After I had sprayed the main door , then I started to spray the room's wall.It reads, This place is only for talented ones. The colour matched the wall and it was done beautifully.Out of the blue,I heard some clear footsteps.I could guess that

footsteps must be owned by a big size person. My hair stood up and I could feel my hearts drumbeat. The happiness and excitement that I had just now vanished in no time. The steps were coming closer.I slowly sneaked out to identify who was the owner of the footsteps. . Oh gosh! AllI could see was a grumpy tall man cladded with black suit.It was my principal! I tried to find a way out but it was useless.I boosted my mind as the footsteps became nearer.Aha! then an idea struck my mind. When the door opened, I dashed out.He grabbed my schoolshirt to stop me from running away and I quickly closed his eyes with my palms wishing that he couldnt see me. I was really panicked and my body was trembling.Without hesitation, I pushed him strongly and he fell down.I ran as fast as a lightning and luckily my dad was in the car waiting for me.I then realized my name tag fellsomewhere. No more thinking,I jumped into dads car. The next day I went to school as usual and pretended nothing had happenend.Like the usualshy boy that do not talk or entertain to anyone unless someone wanted to say hello, I sat at my place besides Mahaddi,my close friend.I quickly grabbed the assignment on English literaturegiven by Sir Rosdi.I knew that Sir Rosdi was watching me very closely and he suspected that Ihad a problem to settle. My heart beat faster when my name was called out through the paging system. Attention to Fahmi Azan from 5 Amanah, please report immediately to the principals room right now! That was the hoarse voice that I heard before. My blood started to flow faster and I could feel the andrenaline flowing..All the eyes were straight on me including Sir Rosdi. They were wandering why the principal was making the announcement himself. .I quickly walked to the principals office .As I arrived there I knocked the door politely. Come in! .Gulp ! Only God knows how I felt right now. I slowly opened the door and entered the room. The room was so cool as cool as my body. Please have a sit.My principal quipped. After being interoggated for almost half an hour,I felt so calm.I listened attentively and nodded. He told me that he was attracted to my arts and proposed the room that I sprayed being made The school arts room. What a surprise! I smiled and thanked him. He also proposed an Arts club and appointed me as the president of the club.I hugged him tightly. He was so shocked but happy with my reactions. I shook his hands and thanked him for his kindness.I never expect this dramatic event took a 360 degree turn.It wasnt a mess as I thought initially..

Dato Tajol told Lina,Irena will be on 90 days maternity leave and you shall take over her functions from today onwards. Soon the telephone rang and Lina took the message from Irenas husband. Indeed Irena had been admitted at Puteris Medical Centre at Bandar Baru Kubang Kerian. Months flew by and Lina was already about 4 months at Mersko Tour and Agency Services. Her relationship with Dato Tajol had been extraordinary. It was no more of an employer and an employee relationship. Lina realised this but she was adamant of continuing this relationship although she knew that Dato Tajols son,Ikhwan was also interested in her. It would be foolish for a 24years old pretty lass having an affair with a 55years old boss. But Lina could not care less. She saw many malay and korean dramas potraying such story-lines and in fact many ended with marriage. So Lina was determined to follow suit. She dreamt of having a comfortable house, loving and caring husband and of course with a few good children. The 26 years old Ikhwan was no match to her as Lina wanted a more stable and matured man to lead her life. Lina remembered on her first date with Ikhwan. He spoke about his ailing mum. Apparently Ikhwans mum is a dutch lady where Dato Tajol met her at London University 27 years ago. She is bed-ridden now after an unexpected stroke a few years ago. This is clearly a first love for Lina and she could imagine the physical sufferings faced by Dato Tajol. She loved Dato Tajol due to his tender and loving care and at the moment Lina felt that nobody could change her opinion on Dato Tajol. Lina stayed whole day indoor. She spent her rest day reading newspaper, magazines and in between she watched cable television. Lina felt asleep on the sofa when suddenly at about midnight she heard a deafening sound. Her guess was right. It was a familiar sound that she heard before-the sound of an alarm from a carparked at the basement. Then somebody knocked her front door entrance.Your car alarm system is disturbing other people her neighbour,Fazleen who just finished her shift work returned and told Lina what she heard..Thank you Fazleen,Ill go down and heck.Lina quipped immediately. Lina dashed to the basement and saw a figure was meddling with her new Myvy car. This lovely car, she was specially given by Dato Tajol on her birthday..Lina was scared to move nearer until suddenly a loud shot was heard. The bullet went through Linas head and promptly she dropped and laid

motionless. Pool of blood was seen at Linas forehead but Lina was still breathing, slowly. She was dying.Soon a crowd gathered and somebody was seen calling an ambulance and patrol car. Between the crowd there was a figure unknown walking slowly. He was seen holding a handkerchief weeping quietly and walking away from a crowd. Within minutes the ambulance arrived.Lina was admitted to ICU unit USM Hospital, Kubang Kerian. Her condition was so critical and she was in coma. They started their investigation beginning with the location of this tragedy. They managed to locate some items that were strong proofs belonging to the suspect. While walking to the car, they accidentally found a womans watch with mysterious fingerprints on the watch .A check on the DNA sample with the chemistry department confirmed that the fingerprint was none other than Datin Nava Emerton, the late Dato Tajols wife. Both Detective Aasim and Alan were puzzled how could a bedridden woman like Datin Nava could move around. This make the case very complicated.Soon they were at Dato Tajols residence and questioned Datin Nava.Datin Nava denied having invoved with this mysterious case. Ikhwan then remembered everything when the handbag she was supposed to give to her mum,she gave it to Hanim, her secretary. Now she knew why Hanim did this to his family. Detective Aasim dashed to Hanims apartment and quickly arrested Hanim and her boyfriend. He found a revolver in Hanims bedroom, the revolver that her boyfriend used to shoot Lina.Hanim and her boyfriend was then charged and jailed. After a few months, Lina woke up from her coma.Ikhwan was the first person feeling very happy and he thanked the Almighty that Lina is now safe.Linas friends also said that Ikhwan always visited her during her comatose situation and brought bouquet of flowers and recited holy verses every night.Ikhwan has replaced the place of the late Dato Tajol and he is now the Chief Ececutive Officer of Mersko Tour and Agency Services Soon,Lina and Ikhwan were married.Lina has found her true love with Ikhwan. They had beautiful twins.Lina finally achieved her dreamt of having a comfortable house, a loving and caring husband and good children. Write a story ending with: "...he left and closed the door behind him quietly." Once there was a couple who was very poor. They had a daughter and lived in a wooden house in the countryside. One night, when the couple was sleeping soundly, all of a sudden a burglar broke into their house quietly through the back door. He was wearing a mask. After taking out a gunny sack, he began to ransack the house. After searching in vain in the living room, the burglar sneaked into the daughter's room. The little girl was sleeping soundly, too. The burglar opened the cupboard and started searching for valuables and money. He found that there were only some clothes inside the cupboard. He searched the drawer of a table near the cupboard. He saw a diary which belonged to the little girl. Out of curiosity, he decided to read it. On one of the pages, the girl said that she was an AIDS victim and had only a few more months to live. Even so, she was not afraid or sad because she had a loving family. Her parents loved her very much and cared for her a lot. She was glad to be part of the warm family. Trying to cure her disease or at least to prolong her life, her parents had used up all their savings. Though she knew that she would not be able to live long enough to repay her parents' love and kindness, she would always remember and treasure them when she was in heaven. The burglar was deeply moved by the girl's love for her parents, bravery and determination. Then, he saw a drawing of the girl and her family. Looking at the drawing, he began to think about his own parents. He remembered the story before he became a burglar. When he was still schooling, he was weak in his studies. At the age of 16, things began to go wrong when he got into bad company. He stole, robbed and even became a drug addict. He quarrelled with his parents when he failed to get money. Then, he decided to move out from his house and live with the bad company. When his parents found out what he intended to do, they begged him to stay but he was as stubborn as a donkey. He refused to listen. After he had started to live with his friends, who were pretty unsavoury characters, things worsened. They committed even more crimes together. The burglar looked at the drawing of the loving family and thought about his inglorious past with tearful eyes. "The unfortunate girl will not live long, yet she's so thankful for her family. She treasures her parents so much. Instead of complaining about her incurable disease, she faces it bravely, " thought the burglar, crying silent tears at the same time. The little girl had inspired him tremendously. He was remorseful for his wrongdoings and decided to turn over a new leaf and return to his parents. Feeling sorry for the girl and her family, he placed a RM50 bill in her diary. That was all he had. After that, he wrote 'Well done! You're a very brave girl. Keep fighting - don't let it defeat you.' in the diary. Then, he left and closed the door behind him quietly.

'I did not know what happiness was until...'

I did not know what happiness was until my aunts caring words sank into me on my graduation day. There she was sitting on the front pew, looking at me with loving eyes, proudly as I stood on the stage giving a speech. She was my angel. She protected me and cared for me since the demise of my parents. As an orphan, it was not easy for me to get acquainted to strangers. I had built a wall over the years to protect myself from being hurt. The fatal incident of a robbery left me broken and shattered. I could vividly remember the bloody tragedy. After my tuition class on Friday night, I came home in my friends car. When I arrived, I felt strange as mom and dad did not lock the door and left the gate wide open. Quietly and suspiciously, I walked into the house sensing something terrible might have happened. In front of the doorstep, to my horror were my parents and twin brothers sprawling right across the carpet. I was paralyzed with fear. Blood was oozing. Mom and dad were lying on their stomachs holding each others hands. My twin brothers were heavily injured with slashes of knife cuts on their heads and back. Wh-whats going on? I asked with a quivering voice. Mom, dad, Habil, Qabil please wake up, I pleaded but they were motionless. It was a very horrifying scene. I found myself screaming and howling hysterically. My neighbours who came to help. The ambulance and police arrived within minutes but they were too late. I was so shaken that I could not stop crying. Not even the paramedic could calm me down. I was escorted to the hospital. Somehow, they managed to contact my aunt. Her hug and consoling words relaxed me a little. I was given a sedative jab and I fell asleep instantaneously. When I woke up, she was right there by my bedside. I felt safe and secured in her presence. The police came to interview me. My aunt was with me all the while. I was kept away from the press and television for weeks for fear of my recurring hysteria. The doctor-in-charge put me in a psychiatric ward for half a year, under close observation to help me cope with the terribly haunting tragedy. After six months in the psychiatry unit, I was finally discharged and reported as being in a stable condition. I went back to the house where the killing took place. It was a very emotional experience. Tears kept rolling down my eyes. I could not stop it. However, I was quiet and not hysterical anymore. My aunt was there holding my hands and rubbing my back, giving me all the moral support and love she could. I packed my belongings, took the family pictures hanging on the wall and put them in my bag. I was put under my aunts custody. My parents and siblings were brutally killed in a home robbery. The prime suspects were two middled aged man. My parents were shot whereas my twin brothers were stabbed to death. It was reported that about RM20,000.00 worth of money and jewellery were stolen. They were finally arrested, convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. Despite that, the life of my loved ones could not be returned.

Stay focused in your studies, pass with flying colours and live your life to the fullest. Realize your dreams of joining a forensic team. Make your parents and siblings proud of you. Its not the end of the world. Im still here for you, she advised and encouraged me. but I cant forget them. Why me? Why my family? I asked knowing that there was no answer to that. Who said that you must forget them? God loves them and that is why He took them in His care. You should be grateful that He still wants you to live their legacy, to care for the unfortunate. They would be sad if you keep wasting your youth away, she rationalized with me and gave me a big hug to comfort me and take my doubts away. Fortunately, her caring words and actions awakened me. I picked myself up from feeling worthless and hopeless. I was only fifteen then. However I strived hard and I succeeded. Today, I am celebrating freedom. Freedom from the bondage of anger and hatred. And I am celebrating this new joy, this new me with my loving aunt. Without her support, I would not have made it.

... I realised that every word she said was true. What if we buy the double storey bungalow on top of the hill ? I still remember Dad said these words excitedly to us a few months ago. It happened when we were visiting Dads friend one day where by he first saw the old, abandoned bungalow. Dad just fell in love with it. The abandoned bungalow was still in good condition. It just that the windows were broken, the paint colour became bleach and lalang has surrounded the whole area. Within weeks, he managed to buy the house and fixed it. We moves in soon after that. My friends at school were quite shocked when I told them where I lived. Chrisy, my best friend came to me during recess time and told me that the house was haunted. Lily, do your parents know to whom the house belonged to ? You never heard the history of the house ? It was haunted ! Whoever stays in that house, he will lose one of his family member at least. Chrisy really tried her best to make me believe her. Unfortunately, I never believed in ghost and let the advise fade away. I never believe them at all, until we had one in our house. It was only when we had our housewarming party that I found out the history of the house. It used to belong to Amandha Elizabert, the wife of an axpatriate. Amandha Elizabert was not well liked. She used to live there with her husband and son but one day the husband took the son and left to England. They

never came back. Since then, she became quite frightening. Some said she was a witch and had dark dealings. Well after she died, no one would go near the house. Nothing actually happened in the first three months. Then, one night, I heard the front gate being opened and then slammed shut. I sat up on the bed and listened. Someone was coming in ! I ran quietly to my parents room. My parents were already up. They must have heard the sound too. It was as if someone was coming up the stairs. Bump, bump, bump. Thump, thump, thump. The sound soon stopped at the door. Creeakkk We saw the doorknob turn. Then, nothing. That was what usually happened. It did not happen every day but it happened often enough for us to be certain that it was the ghost of Amandha Elizabert. We never saw her, though. But we always heard strange things. After all these time, I can count it as the scariest experience in my life. About four months we moved in, Dad fell ill with heart disease. At first, there should be a medicine that can cure Dads disease. But, the situation is never goes the same as what in the statement said. Eventually, Dad passes away after he stayed two days in the hospital. Strangely, after he died, we never heard from Amandha Elizabert again. Most of us were convinced that Amandha Elizabert wanted revenge and she got it. I do feel sad when Dad left us. If only I believe in what Chrisy said from the beginning, these might not happened onto my Dad. Now, I realised that every word she said was true.
