I. Introduction RYL Drugstore is owned and managed by Mr. Rosaurro Yvette Lawrence G. Benito.

It is located at ground floor of EDF Bldg. Pob. Sur Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan. It was started in June 2002 with a started capital of 400,000. RYL Drugstore is still currently using manual system. Project Objective The objective of the project is to develop a Computer-Based Sales and Inventory System for the RYL Drugstore. 1. Identifying the recent procedures in using their system. 2. Solving the problems encountered by their system. 3. Analyzing the recent procedures in the inventory and monitoring of expiration date of medicines and other products. 4. Developing the security measures to be adopted. 5. Conceptualizing the perceived benefits once the computerization is implemented. Project Overview 1. Achieve customer satisfaction with the Drugstore. 2. Provide necessary service quickly. 3. Making inventory and monitoring of expiration date of the products easily and quickly. 4. Computing the amount of their product sales easier. Project Duration 1 month Proponents Marjorie Capua

Description of the current situation RYL Drugstores Inventory, Record keeping and Monitoring System are still done manually. They could not comply with the latest trend in verifying, searching and checking each supplies and equipment documents efficiently. III. Problems Encountered Based on the conducted interview and observations, the group had come up with the following problems being encountered by the project. 1. Lots of work. 2. In making inventory and monitoring the expiration date of their products manually it consumes a lot of time and is prone to error. 3. Difficulties in computing the amount of their product sales. 4. Selling uncommon medicine without medical prescription. The study seeks to answer the following problems: 1. What are the recent procedures in using their system? 2. What are the problems encountered by their system? 3. What are the procedures in the inventory and monitoring of expiration date of medicines and other products that needs to be computerized? 4. What security measures are to be adopted?

IV. Scope and Delimitation The scope of our study is to develop a computerized system for RYL Drugstore. Since manual inventory consumes a lot of time and is prone to errors, our group had come up with the following problems being encountered by the drugstore. The proposal aims to establish a better way of making inventory. It also aims to lessen the work of the salesclerk in making inventory and in monitoring of the expiration date of medicines and other products of the drugstore. The project is delimitated by the procurement system which is not included in the proposed system but accepts the procured medicines as an input for the inventory system. V. VI. Recommendations We recommend them to use a Computer-Based System to make their work easier, faster and more accurate. Computerizing the inventory system brings the business the potential improvement in accuracy and speed through better analysis of inventory trends, including the pattern of processing and recording. Furthermore, immediate result will be more timely and accurate information about, item presently on hand. Additional equipment and property personnel could encounter fewer burdens, less effort on processing transactions and may avoid misplacing or loss of records. The used of the computers is the best solution that we think that would answer the existing problem in terms of operations and functions of inventory, record keeping and monitoring system for the property and equipment of RYL Drugstore. VII. Appendices We used the following tools in gathering data to pursue our study: the method of research such as Sales and Inventory System, Descriptive Method and the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), the Source of Data which includes Personal Interview, surfing the Internet which are vital in utilizing and conceptualizing the design and creation of the developed system.
