5 Earth and Power Supply Installation

This chapter describes the procedure to: Install Personal Protective Earth cable Install AC 230 V mains cables Install DC - 48V mains cables Test the power supply installation.

Before making any electrical connection to the rack, ensure that the safety instructions are applied. It is essential that: The electrical power supply is disconnected. Ensure all switches or fuses devoted to the rack into the site connection box are powered off Due to high leakage current, the protective EARTH must be connected to the equipment before AC/DC power cable connection.

6 PCM Cables Installation

This chapter describes the procedure to: Install PCM cables in site cable tray Connect PCM cables to the connection area of the rack.

Help: Note:

To install and connect PCM cables at site side, refer to the document: Installation Method of DDF for BSS Equipment document. In case of multistandard installation, the ports 1 and 2 are dedicated to the GSM part (Abis 1 and 2) and ports 3 and 4 are dedicated to the UMTS part (E1-1 and E1-2).

Depending on equipped SUMU board variant the following situations can occur: For SUMU variants up to 3BK 25837 AGxx only the PCM connection is supported and it is mandatory From SUMU variant 3BK 25837 AHxx on, the PCM connection is optional.

10.1 Removing the Transportation Eye Bolts

In case of Evolium A9100 MBS Outdoor installation in aggressive salty environment it is recommended to remove the eye bolts from threads on the top and to store them inside the cabinet after installation. The threads can be protected against sand and dirt pollution by means of a standard galvanized M12 screw.

10.2 Top Roof Closing

In order to manipulate the roof refer also to labelling at front of roof. For safety conditions (windy), it is preferable to manipulate with two installers.

1 - Locate the two hinges at rear of roof

2 - Insert the hinges at the bolts of rack

3 - Holding the top cover under an angle of about 20 , pull it to front to engage the hinges at the end of there cut-out
