Raymond English 1103 4 October 2013 Sexual Violence While attempting to decide on a topic for this semester long multi-genre inquiry project we went through many ideas. Some ideas were too broad, such as the condition of ADD and ADHD while others were too boring and overdone, for instance, anorexia. Due to our similar interests in the fields of athletics and health we expanded our narrow, typical subjects into the subject of sexual violence. We decided on this topic because of the attention it does not always get and because of the problems that it creates in not only in the United States but around the world. Not only do we wish to explore and better understand sexual violence but we wish to do so in order to express it in a way to our peers that is engaging, emotional, and personal. The focus of our project will be on sexual violence. In discussing this topic, we wish to explore other significant areas that include sexual assault, rape, family violence, with a bigger enfaces on sexual violence in other countries. Our desire include sexual violence in other countries comes from personal stories and visits to countries outside of the United States. We hope to incorporate all of these areas into our project but it will depend on how much information we are able to gather on each and where our interests leads us. We will keep an open mind and realize that based on our findings some of our original ideas might not be incorporated into the final project. Our plan is to include visual aspects as well as more personal stories into our

Reardon and Dedmon 2 presentation. Statistics will be one of our visual aspects that will be included in ways of graphs, maps, and charts. In addition, we plan to add in pictures and possibly news broadcast videos on the particular subject. We will divide the work evenly so that we are each researching a sub topic of sexual violence that we both find interesting. Both of us will do our own researching on the subjects by using books, databases, and online articles as sources. This is the only thing that we will both be doing on our own just so that we can explore the topics separately and collect as much information as we can. We plan to get together weekly to collaborate and share with each other our findings and possible new ideas for the project. Upon meeting with each other we will decide what we each need to do next so that we can keep moving forward with the project each week. The main portion of the project will be the presentation component which we will both do together. Although we have not decided yet, we will most likely be using powerpoint for our project. When creating this we will both agree upon the content and design of the powerpoint.
