Simulation should take into account the relevant phenomena allowing better decision making. In industry, research should result in:! Increasing prots / Risk reduction! As there is a lack of knowledge of the reservoir properties, a single scenario is not enough. Uncertainty must be taken into account.! ! !

Numerical tools show a strong trend towards coupled formulations incorporating an increasing number of phenomena. ! The aim is to account for the full range of interactions between the various processes occurring simultaneously in the same problem.!

Black-Box Optimization:! Surrogate based optimization using LCVT sampling, Kriging surface tting, and Sequential Approximate Optimization strategy. SQP used to solve optimization sub-problems.!

OPTIMATIZATION APPLIED TO HISTORY MATCHING REAL CASE STUDY!

Hybrid Optimization Strategies! Problems are multimodal with several local minima. Use evolutionary search to nd a point close to the global optimum then rene solution using efcient local search methods.! GLOBAL! SEARCH! promissing!
