Alumni Communications Intern

Salary Range: $12.00 15.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications Work Schedule: Flexible, 15-20 hours per week Department Introduction: The mission of University Advancement is to engage alumni, parents, students and friends and other members of the DU community in support of the Universitys mission and goals. The Universitys multi-year fundraising campaign, Ascend: The Campaign for the University of Denver, is impacting our students and our community through enhanced resources secured from donors for scholarships, faculty positions, pioneering programs, and innovative facilities. Building lifelong relationships with alumni is also receiving renewed attention as a high institutional priority, understanding that consistent engagement and outreach efforts year after year will be required to build the kind of culture of engagement and philanthropy that the University seeks and that character izes many of the Universitys peers and aspirant. Advancement professionals at the University of Denver are relationship-focused, alumni/donor-centric, strategic, collaborative, ethical, and transparent. We also strive to provide added value to the University by proudly serving our alumni and constituents, demonstrating clear results, consistently aspiring to higher levels of achievement, and fostering long-term sustainability. Summary of Duties: Assist with the development and management of interactive elements and content for the Alumni Relations website and various other digital platforms. Sort, label and organize existing alumni photos for use in digital and print publications. Develop a system for uploading and storage of new photos taken by staff and hired photographers. Assist with the Alumni Online Community including creation of email and event registration templates. Document past alumni profiles, class note submissions, event speakers and other touch points using the Universitys Banner database. Assist with developing content for, and posting on, the Alumni Relations Facebook page. Research alumni, parents, students and/or staff to identify constituents that we can profile in our newsletter and/or other digital or print pieces. Perform related work or other projects as assigned.

Qualifications: Junior- or senior- level undergraduate or graduate student studying communications, digital marketing or closely related field. Experience with various social media platforms, particularly Facebook. Strong desire to think creatively and work independently and as a part of a team. Graphic design experience is a plus.
