May 2008 Work and Research Experience Graduate Student Researcher, Farnham Lab, University of Southern California, April 2011 Present. I am investigating the function and genome-wide DNA-binding properties of transcription factors as it relates to global DNA methylation patterning and cancer. Specifically, my dissertation project aims to study the role of POZ and BTB domain-containing zinc finger proteins (ZBTBs) and their role in the epigenetic regulating the genome in the presence and absence of DNA. I am interested in the epigenetic regulation of the genome, and how the methyl-DNA landscape of the human genome dictates transcription factor binding and recruitment of histone-modifying proteins. Graduate Student Researcher, Farnham Lab, UC Davis, Spring 2009 March 2011 Investigation of the function and DNA-binding properties of transcription factors, specifically zinc finger proteins, their evolution in higher mammals, and their role in human disease. Summer Intern at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Summer 2008 I worked with the Gene Expression Division Research and Development group on the development and

validation of their siRNA product line. Work included extensive tissue culture and the qPCR analysis of gene expression in cells transfected with different siRNA constructs. The internship included a 15-minute Power Point presentation to Senior Management and co-workers. Undergraduate Researcher, Britt Lab, September 2007 June 2008 Research included transformations of the model organism Arabidopsis using binary vectors in Agrobacterium as a vehicle for gene replacement or transformation. I worked on finding a more efficient way to select for the homologous integration of a gene construct over the more common non-homologous end-joining pathway. Summer Intern at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Summer 2007 I worked with the Gene Expression Division Marketing Group with Product Management. Responsibilities included detailed market competitive analyses, research (qPCR/qRT-PCR and cell culture work), and creation of technical bulletins. It also included a 15-minute Power Point presentation to Senior Management and co-workers.
