INTRODUCTION
This manual outlines the instructions for OOTM Service Request functions. Some functions requires proper
administration configuration, and there are some which are user-role specific. This manual describes step- bystep instructions on how to perform each of the application functions.
The manual consists of the following section under Instructions:
1. General: This section discusses all the general functions in Service Request panels.
2. Service Request: This section discusses requesting difference services from OR Dashboard
3. Staff Request: This section discusses requesting for staff from OR Dashboard
4. Event Notification: This section discusses notification messages created at different
operation stages
INSTRUCTIONS
2.1
General
ORD user has to perform the some general functions to access/configure dashboards.

Each of the above functions is explained in the following sections.

Login
1. Enter operating room name to the Username box.
2. Enter password to Password.
3. Click Login.

Service Request
The Service Request buttons are color coded to indicate the status of the request such that the users within the
OR can monitor the request status.
The color code is listed in the table below.

Select Request from Blood request table and click Edit button
panel and edit selected blood request.

System sends an SMS to Blood Bank technician hand phone and creates new request row in Blood Bank
console.
12. To deny, reply request message with Deny or D or right click on appropriate request from the
Blood Bank Console and select Deny option. If user (technician) enters any text then that Text
will be displayed with Deny Message.

13. Acknowledge from mobile with a blank reply or double click on Acknowledgement button

Status of the Request will be updated in OR Dashboard. System notifies the status with an alert popup.

System sends a dispatch SMS to AU Nurse hand phone. After receiving the blood, AU Nurse should reply from
hand phone with a blank SMS to complete the request.

Acknowledgement Escalations

If Blood Bank Technician doesnt respond with in 3 minutes after receiving the blood request,
system escalates the request to Blood Bank In charge and Blood Bank Technician.

If Blood Bank In-charge or Blood Bank Technician doesnt respond with in 3 minutes after
receiving escalation SMS, system time-outs the request.

b. Dispatch Escalation

sends the same SMS to AU Nurse hand phone
If AU Nurse doesnt respond with in 4 minutes after receiving escalation SMS, System
terminates the service request.

escalation SMS, system escalates the request to OT Nurse In-Charge and 1st Radiographer.

Event Notifications

Notification to Patient
System sends an SMS to patient before 3 days of operation informing about the operation date and
cancellation procedure, if the patient is same day admission in DSOT.
2.4.2
System sends an SMS to Surgeon and Anaesthetist when patient arrives at reception, if Surgeon or
Anaesthetist is not engaged in any other operation.

Notification to OTT
1. System sends an SMS to OTT after Skin closure of ongoing operation.

System sends an SMS to patients next of kin after patient comes out of operating room.
2.4.6
System sends an SMS to patients next of kin after patient comes out of recovery room, informing about
patient ward details.

In recovery station, Recovery nurse updates patients post-operation requirements. To update post-op details,

post-op requirements for the selected patient.

When next patient arrives at Reception counter, and registered with RFID tag, system sends a notification to
operating room on OR Dashboard.
