Title: Why is there no cure for AIDS?

Aim and Hypothesis:

Today, there is no kind of cure for AIDS and for HIV, why? because they are diseases that mutate so fast and when they find a cure this mutated quickly. When a disease mutates, it changes the ADN so that become a different type of the same disease, immune to medication that might have worked on previous strains. Another reason is because AIDS damages the immune system, meaning that the body's natural defenses cannot fight off the disease. The hypothesis of this investigation is: There is no cure for AIDS.

Introduction:
The word AIDS comes from the initials of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, which is the inability of the immune system to fight infection and other disease processes. AIDS is not a consequence of an inherited disorder, is the result of exposure to HIV infection, which facilitates the development of new opportunistic infections, tumors and other processes. This virus remains hidden and destroys a certain type of lymphocytes, cells that defend the body's immune system.

Method:
a) Information search

Aids Transmission

b) Consult health authorities - Who is at risk of becoming infected? - What is the degree of effectiveness of condoms in preventing HIV?

Results:
a) Information search: Aids Transmission Blood contains the highest concentration of the virus, followed by semen, followed by vaginal fluids, followed by breast milk. HIV Transmission: -Unprotected sexual contact - Blood contact, including injection drug needles, blood transfusions -Mother to baby

Sexual intercourse: In the genitals and the rectum, HIV may infect the mucous membranes directly or enter through cuts and sores caused during intercourse. Vaginal and anal intercourse is a high-risk practice. Oral sex: The mouth is an inhospitable environment for HIV (in semen, vaginal fluid or blood), meaning the risk of HIV transmission through the throat, gums, and oral membranes is lower than through vaginal or anal membranes. There are however, documented cases where HIV was transmitted orally, so we cant say that getting HIVinfected semen, vaginal fluid or blood in the mouth is without risk. Sharing injection needles: An injection needle can pass blood directly from one persons bloodstream to another. It is a very efficient way to transmit a blood-borne virus. Sharing needles is considered a high-risk practice. Mother to Child: It is possible for an HIV-infected mother to pass the virus directly before or during birth, or through breast milk. Breast milk contains HIV, and while small amounts of breast milk do not pose significant threat of infection to adults, it is a viable means of transmission to infants. b) Consult health authorities - Who is at risk of becoming infected? The answer to this question is easy: all. Only differences in the chances of getting this dreaded disease. The transmission of AIDS is generally associated with a number of risk behaviors that can be avoided or at least reduced.

Undoubtedly, a child born to an infected mother is at risk for AIDS during pregnancy and especially during labor. As we have said previously, there are treatments for the mother that greatly reduce the possibility of this infection. Subsequently, if the child is born without the infection, the mother should take the same precautions with him than with the rest of his family with the exception that you can not breastfeed and should be more careful given the intimate mother-child contact during the first years of life.

- What is the degree of effectiveness of condoms in preventing HIV? The male and female condoms are the only products that are available today to protect themselves from HIV. If it is used correctly every time you have sex, condoms are an effective means for the prevention of HIV in womens and mens. However, there is no 100% effective, and even the use of condoms provides absolute protection against STIs. For these effective protection must be used correctly every time. Incorrect use can cause them to break and lose its protective effect.

Conclusion:
The results show that AIDS is still infected by people. The people do not take seriously enough the infection. The only thing I see is that we not give importance to AIDS, a disease we do not know the cure. We need more information about methods of its prevention and cure.
