ImetRachelinSpring2011inANT202,Sexuality,GenderandCulture,asecondyearanthropology course.IhavetaughttwotofoursectionsofthiscourseeachyearatPimaCollegeforfifteenyears.Rachel distinguishedherselfthroughoutthecourseandearnedastrongA. Especiallymemorablewasherperformanceonthemajorcourseassignment,whichrequiredcollaborating withapartnertoreviewoneoftheassignedreadingsfortheclassandpresentoriginalresearchonatopic relatedtothearticle.Alongwithherpartner,Rachelexplainedtheauthor'sfindingsabouttheBarbiedolland, then,elaboratedonthemesofgenderinginchildren'stoys.Theyconductedtheirourownethnographic fieldworkatalocalToysRUs,creatinga2.
