The coronel family is currently residing at Juan Gonzales compound, daisy road guiwan, zamboanga city. It is an extended family.

The head of the family and also the owner of the house is Dolores coronel. She is already widowed. Her husband died last year due to heart attack. She now lives with her daughter and grandsons. Athough, lola Dolores is the head and owner of the house in terms of decision making regarding on health and other important matters she will still seek for her daughters opinion and her eldest grandson, wilfredo. In general the relationship of the head with her family is doing well. The head said that sometimes they also experienced conflicts or misunderstandings between family members but it was just normal to have that kind of situation and they normally resolved it right away. The communication between family members is quite good. They never lose their respect for each other when communicating. B. HOME AND ENVIRONMENT The house was not really big for their family. It has three rooms and it is also made of mixed materials. They have appliances in their living room like a television and electric fan. They used their cellular phones as a medium for communication. They used electricity as their lightning facility and gas stove for cooking. For their drinking water they get it directly in the faucet and store the water in a clean pitcher with cover. They have one comfort room where in they used the flush type of toilet and also they have a septic tank for their sewage system. They hang their garbage outside their house and wait for the garbage collector to collect it but sometimes they also burn their garbage. They dont have any domestic animals. Mosquitoes and flies are common in their neighborhood because of an open canal. Water is polluted in their community because a lot of people are throwing their garbage in bodies of water. In general the community is moderately congested and not an environment friendly. C. SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND CULTURAL CHARACTERISTICS In terms of income and expenses the head knew that they are having a hard time when it comes to money because the only one working in their family is her eldest grandson, wilfredo. His income is not enough to meet their daily necessities especially food to it thats why some of her grandsons cannot continue their studies because they cannot support their education. The family is a roman catholic. They are also zamboanguenos so they usually used chavacano when communicating. In terms of relationship of the family with the neighborhood they have a lot of friends especially lola Dolores who loves to play bingo together with her friends. D. HEALTH STATUS OF EACH MEMBER The family eats two to three times daily.They bought their food in a market or sometimes in a carideria. For their dietary intake they eat vegetables and meat, they love to eat fried food. If they cant afford to go to the market they just stick with processed foods like canned goods or went to the carinderia and order. The daughter told me that lola Dolores has hypertension. Her usual BP is 150/100 mmHg and she has her maintenance but she just took it whenever her BP is high. she is also a smoker and usually smokes 5-7 sticks per day and she is also a heavy alcohol drinker.

During her leisure time you will see her together with her bingo friends. They drink alcohol and smoke. E. VALUES, HABITS, PRACTICES, ON HEALTH PROMOTION, MAINTENANCE AND DISEASE PREVENTION All of the children in the family are fully immunized. The family has an adequate rest and sleep but lola Dolores dont practice any healthy physical activity because during her leisure time she will play bingo with her friends and has a bad habit of smoking and drinking alcohol. They just went to the health center whenever lola Dolores need to take her blood pressure but whenever someone in the family is sick they just call the hilot or buy an over the counter dru to relieve the symptoms.
