Biography
Since I was a child I have always enjoyed designing spaces for myself as well as my family. At first it was just a hobby something that I enjoyed doing in my spare time, and then it finally occurred to me that I wanted to do this for a living and help other people create their dream spaces. I was born and raised in the state of Ohio by my wonderful mother, stepfather and grandmother. They taught me everything that I know. Both my mother and grandmother are handicapped so I have had a great deal of experience in the handicap accessible world. Viewing the struggles that this population goes through everyday. Learning what needed to be changed and adjusted as I helped my loved ones along the way. With this experience I feel that I have a good understand of this need and will always make sure the my spaces take this aspect of design into consideration. My work experience in the food industry and retail world have also opened my eyes to the problems first hand of bad design within these spaces and what would need to be done to make these spaces meet the needs of the user. Within these two fields I have moved up the employment ladder to management which shows that I have the drive and understanding to be trusted with higher responsibility. I love to travel the world with my wonderful boyfriend of six years, to see new designs and experiences, which inspires me to create my own. Upon graduation I plan on going into the world with an open mind and heart, with the knowledge I have obtained, to help people make their dreams into a reality.

Designer Statement
A home is the place you come to for sanctuary and safety. It should make you feel warm and comfortable at all times, while still reflecting the person you are to your family and guests. The same goes for commercial spaces, as this is where you go for fun, entertainment and expression. These places should make you feel welcome and almost like a retreat from your normal life. I feel that design should take a person on an adventure into their dreams. Taking them away to exotic locations and experiences that are out of this world. All the while still keeping in mind handicap accessibility as well as functionality, knowing from first hand experience that if you create a space that keeps the employees happy they will then in turn keep the clients happy, which is the goal. Upon graduation my goal is to get a job at a company that has room for creativity and advancement, designing so that I can change the world around me one space at a time.

Tropical Holiday color washes the wall creating a modern and fun place to the clients and guests. A stainless steel backsplash helps to continue the modern look while breaking up the bright color. Thick glass countertops cover the entire surface space creating interest and additional color. A mahogany wood cabinet with stainless steel and bubble glass inlays helps to create texture. Stainless steel molding and appliances polish of the space and make it complete. The center island contains a sink and wine cellar on the south side, while on the other side you find a glass table and booth seating as a family gathering space. Bamboo wood floors and energy saving lighting help to keep the space modern, light and airy while still keeping green design in mind. The intent of this space is to feel as though the jewelry store is set in a sunken ship. With weathered display cases and cash wrap area. A fish tank is the center piece of the space, drawing the clientele to come in a have a look. An additional fish tank set into the wall gives the theme more basics, making it feel like you are under the sea even more. Mirrors have been added to make the space feel bigger and the geometrix pendant light help the space feel sea like while adding the glitz and glamour that a jewelry store should embody. This space will be fun and inviting for all customers and will make them feel as though they have stepped into a ship under the sea.

Located on the water of New Orleans, Celestials wil be the up and coming restaurant of the area. This formal restaurant wil make you feel as thought you are having a lavish garden party. The inspiration piece for this project is Vincent Van Goghs Starry Night painting. I want the guest to feel as though they have stepped into his painting. A wine bar wil be included with a large cypress tree as the focal point of the space. Elegant fabrics and table settings wil adorn the formal furniture and sitting areas. Star pendant lighting as well as recessed lighting wil be put into action. Etched glass and wrought iron wil be used throughout the space. The entire dinning room area wil have an LED galaxy ceiling. This system is easily installed and wil be the gem of the restaurant. These lights wil slowly blink and change to create spinning galaxies and shooting stars as the guests dine below. A spiral stair case or elevator wil take you to the second floor where you can find a lounge sitting area and ballroom dance floor. Once your man has whisked you on to the dance floor you can watch the stars up above. The entire upper floor wil have a large skylight so that you wil be able to view the wondrous odyssey of space. A large grand piano and live band wil occupy the space as well. This location wil be a magical place for retreat, as well as a venue for a special event. Celestial is your main event!

Pittsburgh Creative Arts Academy provides aspiring young artists with art, music and creative thinking instruction necessary for building young aspiring artists. The academy specializes in teaching young children, starting at age three. Since this school is located in the city of Pittsburgh, the design will reflect that. The urban atmosphere will be brought from the outside in. The space should give the client the feeling of unity of surrounding and the arts. This is created by having urban influences brought together with the creations of the children. The hallways leading to the classrooms will have a cityscape mural painted on them. On these murals, there will be digital picture frames that will hold the art work of the students. These picture frames will be to hung in strategic places on the mural to give the illusion that they are graffiti on the city walls. Since these picture frames are digital it will give each student the chance to have their work turned into graffiti. These frames can load up to 100 pieces and slowly phase through them. Mahogany hardwood flooring will be put into place with rich city inspired color as the back drop. As for the classrooms, they will have a theme pertaining to their name. In the waiting area, the client will feel as though they are sitting in a near by park. Here they will be able to hear the students music performed. This will give the feeling of a symphony in the park. The guest will be able to drink coffee, access the internet and watch screens that will showcase the work of the students. All in all the entire place will bring in the urban city that is so beautifully painted outside

The Harrison family has asked for a jazzy art deco atmosphere. The new design will be incorporating their love for music and musical instruments. Geometric shape will also be a very important design aspect within this home. The traditional art deco color palette and design will be put into action. Upon request there will be a black art deco piano added to the living room and will be the focal point of the space. As for the home theater a silver screen theme, with only silver, black and gray in use, will be put into effect. The existing radio city furniture will be incorporated into the home theater. New art deco furniture pieces into the home to furnish the foyer, living room and home office. Lots of chrome and glass will be use. As well as stained and etched glass will complement the space. Brilliant art deco accent lighting as well as great task lighting for the family will be added. Since security is an important issue for the family this will be an important aspect of the design planning. When this space is complete the Harrison family will feel as though they live in the 1920s, while still having access to all the modern amenities of the present day.

An up and coming cruise line, Enchanted seas is aiming to get a head start on the new suggested target audience of travel, and has come to Visionary Design in request of a remodel of an older ship. The company has recently purchased a few ships from a rival company and plans to remodel them, so that these ships can create the start of a grand fleet at Enchanted Seas. They are asking for a new and fresh theme with activities that will attract their target audience and keep them coming back for more! Along with universal and eco friendly practices taken into consideration wherever possible. All of which will help this fresh and innovative cruise line get their foot in the door of future cruising and make them a household name. Baby Boomers are all about adventure, they want to explore the unexplored and see what has never been seen by the human eye. They are memory collectors and thrive on these experiences. So what better experience to give them on a cruise that is aiming towards them, than to create something that has never been explored before! Atlantis! The lost city in many legends and myths has suddenly reappeared from the depths of the ocean, and turned into a grand floating island for the guests to adventure and explore! An ancient city theme in ruins with forests, oasis and several waterfalls flowing throughout the space. The ship will have an enchanted atmosphere, as if there is something magical going on, but you cant quite put your finger on it. Many restaurants, theaters, Water Park, rock climbing, indoor skiing; hidden aquariums and so much more will create an unforgettable experience.

Brown and blue are the colors for this modern space. A 1920s Hollywood glamour theme gives the space a modern but classic feel that will make the clients feel as though they are in a spa resort. With blue and brown iridescent glass mosaic tiles will cover the walls from the floor to half way up the wall. Wainscoting stainless steel tiles will band the space and create a division for the wall. Chocolate paint color will then continue up the wall to the ceiling. The east bathroom wall that blocks the toilet space is covered in a glass mosaic tile from floor to ceiling. All of the materials are green and easy to maintain when it comes to little hands and finger prints. Dual sink with dark chocolate brown vanity and blue glass vessel lavatory will make it easy for a child or adult to use the area. Brushed stainless steel hardware and faucets that echo the art deco period will continue the theme of the space. A large arm chair with blue indoor/outdoor fabric and small side table will make the space a comfy retreat, but still be versatile and durable for everyday use Lastly a large whirlpool tub and ceiling faucet will create a luxurious waterfall effect. All chosen materials are easy to care for, durable and keep in mind green design. The owner of this bathroom will feel pampered and relaxed every time they walk into this space.
