The ECOSOC President

CHANGES OF ECOSOC OFFICERS AND DEPARTMENTS ----------------------------------------------------------------To: Economics Community 25 October 2013

Good Day Fellow Members of the Economics Society! Last 12 October 2013 the Audit and Evaluation Team has convened to discuss about the changes of the Economics Society Departments and Officers. Further assessment was done to justify the efficiency of the officers and departments performance and outputs during the First Semester of this Academic Year. The Final announcement was done during the Mid-Year Evaluation and Strategic Plan Re-Alignment last 17 October 2013 at the Loyola Conference Hall and shall be further justified as the Justice of Peace shall announce the result of the evaluations. Thus, by the power conferred upon me, I shall now declare the list of Officers and Departments for the Second Semester of the Academic Year 2013-2014 (See the list below). We also thank the following colleagues who will be venturing into the professional world as they official apply what theyve learned to the outside world: Aubrey G Bagood, Director of Information and Publication Flora April D Arroyo, Fourth Year Representative Katrina Y Demetrio, Deputy Director of Secretariat and Membership James Michael C Ecuasion, Deputy Election Officer Further thanks to Sarah Jane F Behiga (Director of Research and Community Outreach), Julius D Cameros (Election Officer). We wish them luck in their personal ventures and exodus. We shall be announcing the hiring of Deputy Directors and Staffs in the different ECOSOC Departments in coming weeks. The Executive Branch

CABINET
1. The Executive Presidency: He/ She shall be the chief executive of the Executive Branch. His executive role is to ensure that all corresponding reports of the different projects are properly aligned to the goals of the society and are following the guidelines and deadlines set by the Cabinet and the SACDEV in general. He shall be the general overseer of projects.

The Executive vice Presidency: He/ She shall be the Deputy Chief Executive of the Cabinet. He/ She shall assist the President in his executive function and would also be the general overseer of projects.

Department of Secretariat and Membership: The Department is responsible of the minutes of the meetings of all formal, informal and emergency meetings of the society. They are in-charge of all properties of the society except on finances. They make sure the smooth daily office works of the society. They are also tasked for the tracking and gathering of membership of the society while working hand-in-hand with the Year Level Cores. And perform other pertinent functions under Article VI, Section 6 of the 2013 ECOSOC Charter.

Department of Budget and Management: The Department is responsible for the sound and efficient use of society resources, especially on finances for the ECOSOC development and also for meeting goals. They are primarily the budgeter of the society and ensure that all finances are spent on allotted projects and to avoid reimbursement situations among officers.

Department of Finance: The Department is responsible for the formulation, institutionalization and administration of fiscal policies, supervision of the revenue operations of the society and upholding public accountability of all projects controlled or even partnered by the ECOSOC.

Department of Information and Linkages: The Department is responsible for the promulgation and dissemination of information that directly affect the welfare of the members of the society. They make sure that all academic and nonacademic announcements are disseminated on the proper time to the knowledge of the membership. The Department is also responsible of the goodwill and protection of the positive image of the ECOSOC to the entire university through bridging efficient agreements with other entities which will benefit the society as a whole.

Department of Media and Linkages: The Department is responsible of the goodwill and protection of the positive image of the ECOSOC to the entire university and tasked to increase the public understanding of Economics as a science and the culture of ECOSOC through efficient branding. They also ensure that all projects of the society are well funded through the creation of programs that raise the funding and monetary standing of every projects and the society in general.

Department of Academic Affairs: The Department is responsible in formulating projects that enhance the academic standing and knowledge of the membership in the Economics as a science. It is to ensure that no one is left behind in academic endeavors and develop the cognitive understanding of the membership on their waterloo subjects. They also serve as the official communicator of the students to the department pertaining to academic issues.

Department of Research and Community Outreach: The Department is responsible in the conduct of research and information that help the society in formulating projects that truly address the urgent needs of the membership. They ensure, along with the Department of Budget and Management that all projects organized and joined by the ECOSOC are effective projects in rendering services to its membership and are align with the vision, mission and goals of the society. They are also the aid of the Economic Research Subjects in conducting researches to strategic places. They formulate projects for the societys community outreach projects and ensure its sustainability.

10. Department of Sports and Physical Fitness: The Department is responsible in formulating projects that protect and enhance the physical well-being of the membership. They are tasked to provide the society an effective spree from academic demands but help them improve their physical endurance and strength.

11. Department of Events: The Department is responsible for the conduct of traditional society projects, such as General Assemblies, Tributes and the likes. They ensure the closer camaraderie between the members of the society, the faculty members and even the alumni.

12. Department of Talent Coordination and Enhancement: The Department is responsible for the gathering, enhancement and development of the talents and skills of the members of the society. The Legislative Branch

STUDENT LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL


1. The Council Speaker: He/ She shall be the chief officer of the Legislative Branch. Her Legislative function is to administer all proceedings of the council. They shall be responsible in the formulation of written-permanent and executory rules in the society that will directly affect the general welfare of its membership.

Year Level Departments: The Department is responsible to the representation of their respective year levels to projects, formulation of policies and crucial decision making of the ECOSOC. They ensure that services conducted or participated by the society cater their needs. They are also responsible to the positive and competitive image of their year level among other year levels and in the society in general. And perform other pertinent functions under Article IX of the 2013 ECOSOC Charter.

Year Level Cores: The Core is the executive counterpart of the Year Level Departments. If the former is to represent their respective year levels to all official undertakings, they, on the other hand, ensure that the services of the society shall be properly distributed and felt by their membership. They also lead their members in all competition involving contests among year levels.

The Autonomous Branch

STUDENT JUDICIAL COURT


The Judicial Branch of the ECOSOC, co-equal to the Cabinet and the Student Legislative Council. They serve as the mediator and amicably resolve conflicts and issues among officers and members of ECOSOC. And perform other pertinent functions under Chapter V of the 2011 Judiciary Reorganization Act and Article VIII of the 2013 ECOSOC Charter.

COMMISSION ON AUDIT
Is an independent and autonomous commission whose primary function is to examine, audit and settle all accounts and expenditures of the funds and properties of the ECOSOC. And perform other pertinent functions under Article X, Section 3 of the 2013 ECOSOC Constitution.

ELECTORAL COMMISSION
Its principal role is to enforce all laws and regulations relative to the conduct of elections, initiatives, referendums, and recall elections. And perform other pertinent functions under Article X, Section 2 of the 2013 ECOSOC Charter.
