THE PROMISES OF GOD 2 Peter 1:4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that

through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. KJV

We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you--your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust. - The Message Bible There are two things to note as you read these scriptures: We have been given (past tense) great and precious or absolutely terrific promises These promises are our tickets or the channel to participation in the life of God we have received.

Jesus said in John 10:10 I have come that you may have life and that life more abundantly and we know that everyone who has accepted Jesus as savior has received this more abundantly life according to 1 John 5:11 And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Every electronic purchased (maybe not the ones bought in Alaba or Oshodi Market) comes with a manual to show the buyer how to operate it. Though we have this more abundant life there is a way to participate in it or activate and operate it, there is a key we need to enter into the field of its manifestation in our lives and the key is called exceedingly great and precious promises. So it is important that we as believers begin to take hold of Gods promises. A promise is an assurance to someone that something will certainly happen or be done. It also means to pledge to do something or provide something. But you see a promise is only as good as the one who gives it so it would be unwise to rely on every promise we receive from just anyone. People make promises every day that they dont intend to keep, some because they lack integrity others because they lack the capacity. So before we begin to jump at the promises of God lets examine why we can rely on His promises. He is willing: He is willing to do the things He says He would. We didnt have to cajole him to love us; he chose to love us unconditionally even before we knew him. He didnt start loving us when we said yes to Jesus; it was His love for us that resulted in the sacrifice of His son Jesus in the first place. So He is willing to do the things He said He would. It is important to note that God is more willing to bless, lift, heal, and deliver you than youre can imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)

He is faithful: He is committed to do the things He says He would. God doesnt just promise and go to sleep and hope that that it would turn out just fine, He watches over His Word to perform it. He is committed to His Word over your life. (Jeremiah 1:12 GNB) He is able: It is one thing to promise it is another thing to have the capacity to perform. The One who has promised is ALL-CAPABLE, ALL-POWERFUL and ALL-MIGHTY, there is nothing He cant do. (Luke 1:37) He is reliable: He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:6), He is not a man that He should lie or a son of man that He should change His mind (Numbers 23:19) There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He is consistent in character. You wont wake up one morning to hear that Gods tenure has expired or He has retired from active service or that he has been dethroned by another. You can rely on Him, Hell always be there. Gods promises dont expire: There is no best before attached to the promises of God. His word is settled in Heaven forever (Psalm 119:89). It will always work; any day of the week, any week of the month, any month of the year and any year of your glorious life Gods promises are not location sensitive: Dont begin to think if I can only travel to so and so place the quality of my life would improve for promotion doesnt come from abroad but from above. His promises will work anywhere you choose to activate them. Finally, You are eligible: oh! God is willing, faithful, reliable, and able but do I qualify for the promises of God? What do I give in exchange for them? My friend you qualify for all of the promises of God and they are free of charge. Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? James 1:5 because God gives generously and graciously to all Where can I find what God has promised me? His word contains is His promises to us. Know them take advantage of them by believing they are for you, confessing them and expecting their fulfillment in your life. Have a great week full of miracles.
