Introduction
Hacent Consultant is a Civil Engineer Consultancy that was founded in 2006. The Company is dully registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM) and provides Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, and Project Management Consultancy Services. We have been involved in projects for private developers to government departments from local country to overseas. The Civil or Infrastructure engineering team have extensive experience in the design of water reticulation, wastewater treatment, and storm water management project. We pool our talents together to work on water supply and sewerage treatment plant, road/ highway & railway design, and other infrastructure design requirements. In addition, there are in-house engineers who are capable of designing reservoirs, supply base for Oil & Gas Industrial, Petrol Station & etc. Structural Engineering is an area of strength which has developed in Hacent Consultant and the team has designed numerous high-rise buildings, experience especially which are in earthquake regions. We are knowledgeable in UBC97 earthquake design for Zones 1 to 4. Utilising the latest engineering software and our combined knowledge, we are able to complete value engineering assessments and product cost effective design products in seismic and non-seismic zone. In addition, the team have skills in structural assessments, rehabilitation works, failure investigation reports, and remedial works for existing buildings. For the field of Geotechnical Engineering, Our expertise enables us to advice on and design for slope stability, remedial works, reinforced earth walls, crib walls, key stone walls, Shotcrete wall with/ without soil nails. The soft ground treatments we typically recommend include PVD methods, preloading, stone columns, pile embankments & etc. Finally, the Project Management services that are offered by the team at Hacent Consultant include undertaking tasks such as coordination, budget control, and time frame management. This assists the client by bringing our engineering knowledge to the project enabling an uncomplicated solution should it be required. Our services can be applied to both in-house projects, where the client wishes to other fields of expertise within Hacent group of company, or independently, in projects that utilise consultants from other firms.

Civil/Infrastructure Engineering
The Civil or Infrastructure department has been involved in several projects with the development area of more than 100 acres. We have the capability to design for water supply, wastewater, and storm water reticulation design. We have designed for daily water demands in excess of 2.5 million gallons, and wastewater demands for population equivalents of more than 70,000. Our expertise includes road and highway, and earthworks design. Using the latest design software, we are able to accurately and quickly determine the cut and fill required in a development. We work closely with our associated partners on the design of water and sewerage treatment plants. We also have in-house engineers who have designed for water tanks greater than 4,000 cubic meters. Structural Engineering
The Structural Engineering team combines their experience in design of building structures for various construction methodologies. We have experience in design of high-rise buildings, governmental buildings, industrial buildings, factory buildings, hospitals, hypermarkets, and shop houses. The construction methodologies from these projects have meant that different construction types are required in design. The projects that have used concrete construction have utilised, conventional beam and column, shear wall, and prestressed slab methodologies. For large span buildings, the team are experienced in design of long span steel trusses. International experience is also a strength in Hacent Consultant. We have designed for structures in the Middle East, Asia, and Australia regions. This includes earthquake prone regions, which with the latest engineering software, has meant that we are able to design for earthquake Zones 1 to 4 in the UBC97 code. We have expertise in the powerful 3D analysis software ETABS. This enables us to design for odd shaped buildings, high rise buildings, and earthquake prone regions. Geotechnical Engineering
Geotechnical Engineering is a field of expertise within Hacent Consultant with a dedicated team of engineers. We specialise in many aspects of this field in particular slope stability, remedial works, and soft ground treatments. Our skills enable us to combine our knowledge and geotechnical engineering software to come up with appropriate solutions. We are knowledgeable in reinforced earth walls, crib walls, key stone walls, gunite or shotcrete walls, soil nails, PVD methods, preloading, stone columns, and pile embankments. Working together with our structural team, we regularly review and complete value engineering on many projects. Our design experience enables us to consult on retaining walls greater than 6m high. Also, as mentioned, we regularly look at and advise alternative solutions for soft ground treatment and our solutions are more than one dimensional.

Project Management
As a complete service or in assistance to clients that need to bridge the gap between their assets and engineering, our project management team provides engineering expertise advice to clients. The team consists of Project Managers who have previously practiced engineering and are therefore better able to assist in the development of the projects. We combine our skills to deliver a project that is on budget and on time. Our experience allows us to efficiently coordinate between the architects and various consultants. We can take care of the submission phases and ensure that all requirements are met from all consultants. Complementing, in particular, our infrastructure, structural, and geotechnical teams, we are able to manage the project from concept to completion.

Hilton Resort Hotel would be a 5-Star resort hotel facing the sea and is located near the coast line of Mina Al Arab, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE for RAK Properties in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. It will be located near the coast line of Ras Al Khaimah Emirates. The 6.70 hectares site will be developed into a 5-star hotel facing the sea. This Resort hotel is being designed to Venetian Theme The development comprises one basement carpark floor, ground floor and 7 Levels of guess room floors and roofs as follows:
- Basement : Carpark : Carpark and resort guest room, offices, Storage area, kitchens etc. : Main entrance lobby, restaurants, swimming pools, ball rooms, and guest room at the rear, facing the coast. - 2nd 7th floor : Guest rooms - Roof : Mechanical and Water Tanks Rooms, Roofing. - Ground floor - First floor

The whole building is divided into three parts with suitable 20mm thick expansion joints. Most areas are single volume spaces with floor height of 3.5m.except the lobby area. The overall design requirements for Architectural, Structural, Services and Utilities, Interior design, and etc was set out based on the standard of Hiltons International Hotel Resort Guideline and U.A.E design practice. The building are designed for seismic zone 2A according to Uniform Building Code of United State of America, as reinforced concrete frame structure.

We have extensive high rise building design experience in Malaysia and abroad. We utilise powerful 3D analysis software, ETABS, in our designs to deliver a cost effective and structurally sound building. This enables us to design buildings to withstand earthquake loads from design codes of various countries. For projects with head room issues, we are able to design structures with shallower depths by exploiting prestressed slabs and beams. The prestressed beams can also be used to increase column to column centers. Shaftsbury Square, at Cyberjaya, Malaysia, consists of five tower blocks of over 25 storeys tall and a six storey podium. There are two apartment blocks and three office blocks in the complex. Each tower employs different structural systems including, structural shear walls, prestress slabs and beams, and insitu beam and column construction. The podium is constructed of prestressed two-way flat slab.

Project of Interest Grandee Biotechnologies

In association with Grandee Biotechnologies, we were the consultants for a major sulfonation plant in Gebeng Industry Park, Kuantan, Malaysia. The project was inclusive of a sulfonation plant, warehouse, administration building, boiler rooms, storage tanks, and a wastewater treatment plant. The phase 1 sulfonation plant was 37.5m long x 27m wide x 12m high, and phase two is proposed to be 60m long x 37.5m wide x 12m high. The construction of the phase 1 plant is utilising long span steel trusses. The soil conditions required short piles due to 3m of soft surface soil. The plant is currently operating successfully.

Experience
Ir Vincent Wong obtained his Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic Kuching, Sarawak during which he also trained as a technical assistant with roles such as a Surveyor, brick laying, plumber etc. He decided to further his studies and obtained his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University Putra Malaysia. Upon completion of his Bachelors Degree, he enrolled in Masters of Science majoring in Geotechnical and Geology. Prior to finalising his Masters Degree in 2003, he joined SSP Geotechnics Sdn Bhd as a Geotechnical Engineer. He was involved in the design of highways, reclamations, soft ground treatment, hilly site development, pile foundation resolutions, marine geotechnical works, electrified double track train projects, dam projects, and SMART tunnel projects. In 2004, he was posted on site as an Assistant Resident Engineer on soft ground and land reclamation projects. He joined Jurutera Konsult Maju Sdn Bhd (JKM) as a Lead Geotechnical Engineer in 2005 and was mainly involved in highway and hill side development. Seeking additional responsibility, he joined Wan Asia Corporation Sdn Bhd in 2006 as a Project Director. With Wan Asia Corporation, he was involved in the development of hotels, commercial buildings, and housing projects. Mr Lim has experience as a practicing engineering profession in numerous projects including high-rise buildings, steel structures, building refurbishments, and basement construction. He graduated from the University of Tenaga National with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) majoring in Civil Engineering in 2004. During his graduate working experience, he was employed as a site training engineer in 2003 for Metro Group and was involved in projects such as medium cost apartments, steel portal frame hawker centres, and housing developments. Experience
Peter Kang graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Tasmania Australia in 2002, and went onto further studies with a Master of Engineering Studies at the University of Sydney, which was completed in 2004. He returned to Malaysia after his studies and commenced his employment with Asia Pacific Engineering Consortium Sdn Bhd. During this time, he was involved in numerous projects with tasks ranging from design work to site supervision works. He was in charge of a mix development in Kuala Lumpur that included one block of 27 storey condominium, three blocks of 10 storey commercial office and apartments, and four storey basement car park. Another major project he was involved in was a proposed mix development with three blocks of 26 storey condominiums and two blocks of three storey car parks. In 2008, he joined Hacent Consultant as a Senior Engineer where he was mainly involved in University projects such as, the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Permatang Pauh in Penang, Malaysia, and the Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Pekan. His experience enabled him to complete value engineering on the UiTM project, which reduced the capital costs dramatically.
