Facility Maintenance MISTRAS offers a complete range of training, QA/QC services and PdM services covering motors, fans, compressor switch gears, etc. using Vibration, Acoustic Emission, Oil Analysis, Thermography, Ultrasonics and Master Signature Analysis. Runway Inspection Through the use of Ground Penetrating Radar, we are able to detect voids and other abnormalities in runways that can cause potential structural failure to the surface. In addition, we utilize various techniques such as C-Scan, DVGA and Guided Ultrasonic Long Range (GUL) techniques to locate and evaluate buried piping and other assets to determine the integrity of coatings and parent metals. These assets include fuel lines that can potentially damage the tarmac and/or runway. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Our state-of-the-art Ground Penetrating Radar Inspection is a safe and effective way to locate buried obstructions in concrete structures. By finding potential obstacles and hazards you

can increase accuracy, safety and peace of mind. Our GPR system is able to locate rebar, post-tension cables, conduits, and voids in structures such as walls, floors, bridge decks, tunnels, balconies, parking garages, etc. and can measure thickness to a depth of over 24. Structural Health Monitoring Our Sensor Highway II (SHII) is designed for unattended use in structural health monitoring management applications operating in extreme weather conditions. It can monitor walls, bridge decks, tunnels, balconies, parking garages and more. Structural health monitoring will enable you to assess a variety of structures for repairs/retrofit, determine if pre-existing/known defects are active, monitor hidden areas where visual inspection is difficult or impossible, and determine if high stressed areas show flaw-like activity. HVAC Inspection Services Our inspection includes air-conditioning chiller tube inspection, balance of plant heat exchangers, heat treatment confirmation, fan balancing, materials sorting & alloy confirmation.

Live line TOOLS AND hard cover-up inspection Testing and certification of electric workers safety equipment is essential to both ensure worker safety, and comply with industry regulatory standards. MISTRAS provides a comprehensive Live Line Tool in-service maintenance and dielectric testing program for all your service needs. We perform tests in accordance with OSHA 1910 and IEEE Std 978-1984, including visual inspection, cleaning, waxing, and dielectric testing of live line tools such as hot sticks, fiberglass reinforced platforms, insulating jumper cables, bypass tubes, and more.

Ground Support inspection Our Aerial lift device on-site inspection program uses the most comprehensive technologies in the industry. To ensure the safe operation of critical equipment we use global Acoustic Emission inspections that exceed ASTM & NFPA standards and assures equipment owners that their assets can be operated safely. We inspect the upper and lower boom including fiberglass, hoses, leveling system, etc. to locate defects that may cause a free fall, free rotation and/ or dielectric failure. Visual and operational inspection of all critical, structural areas are performed via magnetic particle, ultrasonic and dye penetrant NDE methods in accordance with ANSI A92.2 and OSHA 1910- 1926.

Electrical substations (transformers) Our diagnostic and health monitoring services for High Voltage Power Equipment, allows you to make timely decisions based on the transformer condition while it remains in service, without affecting its operation. We use several non-destructive testing techniques for electrical substation inspection, such as the following: Acoustic Emission Dissolved Gas Analysis High Frequency Current Transducer Oil-Quality Tests Infrared Vibration Visual Inspection

Tanks Pressure Vessels & Piping No Tank Too Big or Too Small to Test! To determine if tanks are safe for continued service from a mechanical integrity standpoint, our regulatory compliant inspection plans utilize traditional and manual NDT techniques, such as visual, ultrasonic and settlement surveys. With our in-service and out-of-service inspection guidelines, and our customized non-intrusive tank inspection program, we can determine the relative condition of your storage tanks without entering the asset. All of our API-653 inspections utilize our electronic reporting system allowing the rapid generation of field tank reports on site. Reports are fully completed by the time the crew demobilizes from the job site.

Elevator Inspection Through our partners, we provide inspection and certification of your elevator systems with our traditional non-destructive testing methods, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Our suite of traditional NDT inspection techniques includes: Ultrasonic testing of components both in the shop and on the field. Visual testing to several industry specific qualifications and certifications. Acoustic Emission inspection of stress deformations. Cable Inspections, Weight testing & more!

Inspection Services for Airport Facilities and Equipment

FAAs Aging Aircraft Initiative: A major advancement in Halon Bottle Recertification using our cost-saving Acoustic Emission test method MISTRAS Halon Bottle Recertification System (HBRS) is a dedicated product, designed specifically for testing Halon 1301 aircraft fire extinguisher spheres from 5 to 16 inches in diameter. Conceptually developed by the Sandia National Laboratory, funded by FAAs aging aircraft initiative and designed and manufactured by MISTRAS, the system consists of state-of-the-art Acoustic Emission (AE) instrumentation and application-specific software. A 200 lb. capacity slide-out tray in the Test Chamber holds the Halon bottle test fixture. The Halon bottle is inserted into this fixture, where the holding (or resting) points are the sensors used to detect AE signals during the test sequence. Sensor cables from the fixture are neatly routed through the side of the Test Chamber to the Operator Console. A thermocouple is attached to the Halon bottle prior to the test. This thermocouple is also fed to an outside digital temperature meter, and a voltage indicative of the actual temperature is Automatic Paper Report Generation and Disk File Storage Report generation and record keeping is an important part of any regulated DOT recertification test procedure and is subject to periodic audit. Because the new test procedure is carried out under computer control, the test report is automatically printed at the conclusion of the test sequence. Additionally, the raw data is automatically stored for archiving multiple test data files.

fed to the system console. Because the bottles vary in size, from 5 to 16 inches in diameter, the test chamber and fixture are designed to accommodate the entire range, including all spherical 4DA and 4DS bottles. Non-spherical bottles can also be tested using a different fixture provided with the system. The greatest financial advantage resulting from utilizing this test procedure is in decreased bottle handling. After removal from the aircraft, the Halon bottle is recertified immediately and returned to the aircraft. Significant cost savings are gained from a reduction of inventory and inventory-related record keeping because the Halon is not removed from the container. Depending on the size of the bottle, the actual test procedure takes an average of only 30 minutes.
