STORIBS OF WORK
On Christmas day Sterihen Fleenor age 6 came running to his daddy calling "Come quick a boy has fallen from a tree and is bleeding and hurt bad." Julius Pleenor went immediately and picked up the limp child and carried him tenderly to his parents* home. Two thoughts filled his mind. First, just how badly was the child hurt. Secondly, he was
greatly concerned becavse the mother had just become a Christian Ijwo v/eeks before and the Japanese often feel that religion is a matter of good luck and he feared for the mother's faith if the child was seriously hurt. The Japanese
father anc Julius took the child to the hospital and v/as happy to learn that only three stithies were necessary for
facial cuts and no bones were broken. The Christmas day was climaxed by the mother coming in the evening to give a prayer of thanksgiving with us that the child was not seriously hurt
and to tell us that her husband' f elt much more interested
in Chrisstianity through his v/iJ&e's calmness and faith in the incident. These ptirents had lost three children in a fire
bomb raid during the war and it v/as a difficult thing for the mo
mother to give up the v/orship of the souls of her throe dead children, but now she has greater comfort to know her children
in Bible School attendance.

of following the teachings of Buddha. Her mother-in-law
