Finals in Philosophy One thing Ive learned since the day I have existed is Life goes on. We cannot suspend our lives and resume whenever we wanted to. Prior to that, we need to face each days challenges. Everyone has its own way of living. Some of you live for someone or for something. Some people live for the fortune, some people live just for the fame, some people live for the power, some people live just to play the game. These lines came from the famous song of Alicia Keys, If I Aint Got You. All of us have daily routines as we continue living. It depends on what we choose to be. We can choose the life of the rich, bystanders, drug addicts, serial killers and so on. But me, I choose the Life of a Christian. I believe in Jesus Christ. This is my philosophy and believing in him doesnt require a religion, it is the relation with him that really matters. In human terms, it is not easy to decide to follow Jesus Christ and to live our lives as Christians. Jesus requires that we surrender ourselves to him, relinquish our aspirations for our lives and submit our will to God. Men and women have never been able to do this easily; if we could, we wouldnt need a savior. When I was a child, my parents kept on taking me to church even though it was already obvious that I really get bored there. As the service keeps on going, Im busy playing tetris, snake and so on. There were several times that I shout intentionally just for us to leave the church although the service is not yet finished. After that we will go to SM North EDSA (in front of the church) and there, I never get tired playing in Quantum and Toms World and watching all the movies I wanted. Moreover, I love to play the girls feelings during that time. For example, I will make a girl fall in love with me and afterwards, I will act like I dont know her ever since. I never wanted to commit in a relationships during that time, until I met the girl that really influenced me a lot. To make the long story short, Ive figured it out that Jesus used her to put love in my heart because its full of unselfish desires and on that time I started to know more about Jesus Christ.

From that moment on is the beginning of life with direction, Life as a Christian. As of now, Im on the second year of my journey to be a Civil Engineer and the challenges that I face gets tougher. In line with this is my purpose to serve God and to share the good news in opportunities like this. Sometime in the future, I will meet labourers who are heavy laden but only God can give them the rest they needed. Moreover, I want to have two Doctorate degrees, one in Mathematics and one in Structural Engineering. I also want to enter the Academe to teach the students with the best of my capabilities and to give them the best training they could have. I will share them my experiences and the good news of Jesus that keeps me strong as I take the road to success. Last and foremost, we must love one another. As an aspirant civil engineer, I say to all of you that we will build not only the buildings but we must also build up each other. We must have healthy personality and healthy spirituality by executing the following: Respect each other. Every member of the society must be treated equal. For example: A beggar on the street deserves the same level of respect with the President of the Republic of the Philippines. Continue on harvesting souls. Share the good news that Jesus came for the sinners. Believe that nothing is impossible. Expect greater things. Our God is greater, stronger and higher than any other. When you lose hope, meditate on the things you have accomplished.
