Motivation letter for masters in networks and communication - feedback required

Hi all,

I have made a rough draft of my motivation letter. Suggestions required to improve the letter . Pleas correct this and help to make it look good. Thanks in advance.

Dear Sir/Madam

Here I am applying for the Master course xxx from the faculty of xxx which will be starting in the month of September 2013.My career ambition is to pursue Doctoral studies in the field of Telecommunication.

Learning is a continuous and never ending process and with this rapid advancement in the field of communication one shall always thrive to know more. My bachelor course called as Computer science engineering had extended course called as computer networks which prolonged for three semesters and also courses on Network security installed a strong aspiration to make my career in this field. With understanding of these concepts I was able to connect with the technologies which we use on a daytoday basis. Carrying forward my interest towards Networks and Communication I did my final year bachelor degree seminar on Networking concept XXX and adding more to it did my final year project titled XXX which was about simulating a IEEE paper based scenario where in detection of a worm in any node of a network will be broadcasted to all the other nodes which helps for the containment of that worm throughout the network. This was successfully tested over a network in our college.

To mention about my academic performances I have consistently performed well and maintained a good grades throughout my curriculum. In Common entrance test for Engineering courses conducted by XXX state board , I was in the top 5% of the rank holders (3781 out of 88,000). I graduated my Bachelor course with a First class with distinction and was among the top 4% in my batch. For consistently maintaining First class with distinction in all the four years of my course, my college did award me with a cash prize in all the four years. Other than academics I was also active in the extracurricular activities. During my bachelor course I was part of departments programmers club and Linux club. In school I served as a board director of interactive club for two years and was part of KhoKho team.

A strong urge to work in the area of interest helped me to get employed by XXX which majorly works on the embedded systems .From the past two years I am working in the wireless communication domain. This job has provided great exposures to the latest wireless technologies like LTE and Wimax. Donning many hats from a system tester, system developer to a senior engineer in my professional career has not only helped me to have a better understanding of the technologies I worked, But has also groomed me as a better team player. By looking at my effort, my genuine interest to learn more and my intellectual capabilities my company has shown its appreciation by rating my performance as four out of five for two consecutive years. My detailed work experience will be mentioned in attached Curriculum vitae.

My decision to pursue my masters course in your university is evidently supported by the sheer number of research work carried out, High number of professors and research assistants in your university. Some of the subjects of the course which I am applying for have a direct connection with the topics which I am interested to learn. Especially subjects XXX, XXX and XXX of which I have witnessed and had played a small role in implementation and deployment in real world .All these factors have motivated me to apply for his course and this course will definitely be a concrete step to way to achieving my dream to do PHD in Telecommunication. A higher quality of education and an environment which is created when

many aspiring talents from around the world gathering at a common place will only take my knowledge level to greater heights .And also backing up of European renowned companies such as Siemens , Alcatel lucent to the universities across the Europe will brings in a proper connection between research and real world demands . On considering all the above mentioned factors an opportunity to study in your university will give me an extraordinary learning experience and my talent will be put to optimal use.

The only wealth which one cannot lose is knowledge and the beauty of it is, more you share more you gain. All the benefits which I gain by this program I would like share them with the upcoming generation. Currently India is witnessing a revolution in the field of information and technology, world has started to notice its contribution to this filed. All the experience and knowledge gained by this program would help me to take active participation and would empower the movement and I have always believed that an individual can bring considerable difference if given a chance. From my recent past since the time I am economically independent I have stated is to provide some of the useful books like coloring books , story books to the children of a rehabilitation facility which is mainly for the juveniles who were involved in rag picking . I enjoy spending some good time with them and this has thought me that doing thing for the people gives you so much contempt. This program would take me to a position where I can contribute more by being an academician.

With my knowledge and experience gained either by academics or by my work I am confident that I will bring a high level energy and diversity to this program and exceed your expectation. I am certain that with my intellectual skills and nature I will be a good part of this program. An opportunity to study in your university will broaden my horizons and will give me an opportunity to gain world class education. Some courses undertaken during my bachelor's degree studies in Computer Science Engineering especially Computer Networks, which we took for three semesters and Network Security [font#0000FF]instilled a strong aspiration to pursue a career in telecommunications. My understanding of the concepts presented in these courses enabled me connect seamlessly with the technologies currently used on a day-to-day basis. My interest in the field motivated me to present a seminar on Networking concept "xxx" and carry out a project titled "xxx" which was about simulating....... all in my final year.

I am of the opinion that all Essays or writings should be structured. I suggest you may reconsider your paragraphing to lead the reader through systematically or you may say chronologically. I believe your Essay is rich in content to make you successful. Best wishes.[/font]
