After working as a clinician for a number of years I was keen to explore opportunities to move into management. I enrolled in postgraduate studies to develop my management skills in the public sector knowing that I wanted to continue to work in the healthcare industry. I chose to study a Master of Public Policy and Management at Monash on the basis that it was not health specific, but did focus on policy and management in the public sector. I was particularly keen to interact with non-health professionals to understand the differing views on public issues.

The course is challenging, but manageable and the discussions with faculty and fellow students, which form part of every class, offer a chance to really explore the ideas and concepts presented.
