Critical Thinking in Decision-Making

Why You Should

As knowledge workers we make decisions and solve problems everyday. The success of both our personal and professional lives depends on the quality of these decisions and our problem-solving ability. Similarly, organisational success relies on the cumulative decisions of employees. The last financial crisis highlighted a plethora of bad decisions made by well-educated people that led to catastrophic outcomes. In its aftermath decision-makers are turning to both technical and cognitive tools to guard against poor decisionmaking. One such tool is critical thinking which is emerging as an indispensable management aid right up there with emotional intelligence. Critical thinking is neither creative thinking nor thinking out of the box, instead it is a way of striving for the highest level of reasoning and judgement that result in sound decisions every time. In this 2-day course, participants will explore behavioural economics, cognitive psychology and critical thinking. You will leave with practical problem-solving and decision-making tools to boost your ability to analyse information, make sound judgements and solve problems effectively.
