Worship of the Triune God

To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest; to all who mourn and long for comfort; to all who struggle and desire victory; to all who sin and need a Savior; to all who are strangers and want fellowship; to all who hunger and thirst after righteousness; to all who will come: JESUS CHRIST offers to you his grace, and this church offers to you its love.

OUR LEADERSHIP
We believe that this true church ought to be governed according to the spiritual order that our Lord has taught us in his Word. There should be ministers or pastors to preach the Word of God and administer the sacraments. There should also be elders and deacons, along with the pastors, to make up the council of the church. Belgic Confession, article 30

A WORD TO VISITORS ABOUT THE LORDS SUPPER

Since the Lords Supper is a visible expression of our unity in faith, if you are not a communicant member of our congregation, we welcome you to this Table if: 1. You have been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2. You are displeased with yourself and repentant because of your sins. 3. You trust that your sins are forgiven by Jesus Christ alone. 4. You desire more and more to live a godly life. 5. You are a member and are not currently under church discipline of a Protestant church, which preaches that sinners are saved by Gods grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and which practices church discipline. If this does not describe you or if you do not understand this, please abstain today. Since we do desire to welcome you at the Lords Table to receive Christ and his benefits, I invite you to speak with me after the service to discuss your relationship with Christ and his Church. Having these requirements helps us reasonably to be assured that you are like-minded by belonging to a church with a common confession of the gospel.

WELCOME!
We are delighted that you are here with us today. Our hope is that your understanding and love of Jesus Christ will grow because of your visit. If you are traveling, we pray your journey will be upheld by Gods hand. If you live in the community help us get to know you better by filling out a visitor card, which is next to the bulletin you picked up on the way in. If you would like to learn more about the OURC we encourage you to help yourself to an information brochure in the foyer. To dig deeper into our history and theology, take a copy of Welcome to a Reformed Church. To dig deeper into what we do in worship and why we do it take a copy of What to Expect in Reformed Worship. Pastor Danny is also eager to meet up with you to get to know you better and to discuss your questions. Please contact him at 760.803.0981 or pastor@oceansideurc.org. WHAT DO I DO WITH MY CHILDREN? As a church we believe the Scriptures teach that the church is a community of adults and children who are all in covenant with God. This means children are welcomed in worship to make a joyful noise to the LORD (Ps 100:1). The praises and noises of Jesus little ones fills our service. We accept this as members of the church because we are also members of each other (Rom 12:45; 1 Cor 12:12 27). We understand this is a different way of worshipping as you may be used to some form of childrens church. For this reason we do provide a nursery in the classroom outside the sanctuary and down the stairs towards the beach. You may also use the foyer as a cry room. If youre not sure what to do, ask us; we are here to help.

PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING

Almighty God, Father of all mercies,

We, your unworthy servants, Do give you most humble and hearty thanks For all your goodness and lovingkindness to us, and to all men. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; But above all, for your inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; For the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And, we beseech you, give us that due sense of all your mercies,

Our Father, who art in heaven: hallowed be thy

name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS

GODS WILL FOR OUR LIVESExodus 20:117 PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Dearly beloved, the law causes us to acknowledge

and confess our many sins and wickedness; not hiding them from the face of Almighty God our heavenly Father but confessing them with a humble, lowly, penitent, and obedient heart that we may obtain forgiveness, by his infinite goodness and mercy. Therefore I urge you to join me with a pure heart and humble voice, before the throne of grace, praying: Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep, we have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts, we have offended against your holy laws, we have left undone those things which we ought to have done, and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us. But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders, spare us, as we confess our faults,

And let all the people say:
