Artist research Andy Warhol Born on August 6, 1928, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Andy Warhol was a successful magazine and

ad illustrator who became a leading artist of the 1960s Pop art movements. He ventured into a wide variety of art forms, including performance art, filmmaking, video installations and writing, and controversially blurred the lines between fine art and mainstream aesthetics . (http://www.biography.com/people/andy-warhol-9523875) He explores the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement in his work which inspires me as it shows the reasoning for his work almost creating a narrative; also attracting the audience with the bright, unusual colours he uses in his artwork. I also like the fact that they are all very unique and one of a kind; whenever I see his work I can always tell it is his. The piece that inspires me the most is that after watching a documentary about Warhol, the piece Campbells soup has a narrative with it. When Andy was a child he lived in poverty and his parents come to America as immigrants; if he was to have the tin of Campbells soup it would be on a rare occasion as they were very poor and couldnt afford it.

Paul Richmond This piece of work is called the brace face. Clearly portraying that as he is wiping paint on his face, that the happy face is fake. This makes the audience wonder what is wrong creating a story of their own which I like in this piece of work as the narrative can be seen by everyone relating to their own problems. Paul Richmond creates clear narratives in his work which inspires me to portray this in my final piece. I would like to use something that means a lot but also has a story behind it; similar to Pauls work.

Both of these artists inspire me to use clear narrative which explain and show important things in my life/ childhood. The way they portray the work and what type of story is behind it. Which makes the audience imagine how they must be feeling; could also relate to things they have also been through in their life. The colours the artists have used are very bright which also attracts the attention of the audience so I would like to use bold colours in my final piece and I would like to be able to have a clear narrative behind it which would also be able to affect the audience in a way similar to the Paul Richmond and Andy Warhol. The reason why I would like to use bold colours in my work is because it can show emotion for example, if the colours were dark (black, brown, grey, dark red) then it could show anger, depression; not a happy narrative. However, if the colours are bright (blue, green, yellow, pink etc.) then it will tell the audience that it was a happy narrative.
