BOND NATIONAL CONFERENCE: Commissioning for local impact: Working together to

improve outcomes for children and young peoples emotional well-being

Wednesday 6 November, at Central Hall Westminster, London

This FREE conference is the culmination of learning and practice from BOND, the 2 year sector-led programme building the capacity of Voluntary and Community Organisations to deliver early intervention mental health support to children and young people. BOND is funded by the Department for Education.
We are delighted to announce keynote speakers: Edward Timpson MP, Minister for Children and Families Norman Lamb, MP, Minister for Social Care Andy Burnham MP, Shadow Health Secretary

There will be both a national and local perspective with an emphasis on policy and practice. A range of evidence, examples and case studies, show how schools and commissioners can build internal capacity, buy in services and work better with voluntary and community sector organisations to increase access to high quality early intervention mental health support for children and young people. Support surgeries from the BOND team and workshop seminars which will look at some of the key issues in more depth. The event will also include the formal launch of the Youth Wellbeing Directory, ACE-Value - the online commission-readiness toolkit. Seminars will cover: Demonstrate the quality of your service / commissioning quality services - ACE-Value standards for providers and Commissioners; How schools can increase resilience in pupils: developing Academic Resilience and supporting SEN mental health The Big Policy Picture Resilience Commissioning in Practice - contracting & procurement models Getting beneath the JSNA - identifying needs in schools and localities Seminars will be delivered by speakers from the Department for Education, University of Brighton, Anna Freud Centre and the BOND Consortium, and will be accompanied by live case studies from local areas within and outside of the BOND Pilot Areas.
