Introduction and Features

Triple Of fset Geometry The triple of fset geometry (see details on page 6) ensures a uniform compressive seal around the entire seat, and produces a wedging ef fect. The triple of fset, combined with the resilient construction, ensures both zero leakage and bidirectionality.

High integrity Shaf t Sealing The shaf t is of single-piece design which provides greater rigidit y to the disc and impar ts bet ter resistance to bending. The shaf t is keyed to the upper hub of the disc, which allows for dif ferential expansion due to variation in temperature. The main shaf t seal is located at the top housing area in the form of a stuf fing box arrangement which consists of graphite packings, gland and gland flange. The Gland entire gland Packing arrangement is asbestos-fr e e in line with international norms. The shaf t sealing at the bot tom housing uses a gasket bet we en the bot tom cover and the bot tom housing. Braided graphite rings Graphite ring Bearing are provided both at the top and bot tom housing to prevent ingress of solid par ticles. Special packings can be Graphite ring provided to achieve low level of fugitive emission. One-piece blowoutproof Shaf t
Bearing

The triple of fset geometry also ensures contact bet ween the body seat and disc seal only at the final shut-of f position, thereby eliminating wear and enhancing life. Special Disc Profile The disc is designed for minimum obstruction to flow, and is made of high integrit y casting with integrally cast hubs. The upper hub is at tached to the shaf t by means of a key for positive engagement. The disc seal is at tached to the disc by means of a retainer ring. Laminar Resilient Disc Seal The laminar seal is constructed with graphite layers sandwiched bet ween metal layers bonded together. The seats are suitable to withstand temperatures up to (1000 0 F). The 538 0 C construction allows for resiliency of the seal material which flexes and energises according to the compressive forces generated. The resiliency of the seal allows the valve body and disc to contract or expand without the risk of jamming due to temperature changes. As a standard, the metal layers are of stainless ste el. Alternate materials like monel and inconel are also available. Raised conical Body Seat The raised conical body seat prevents solid accumulation inter fering with the seal. As a standard, the seat is hard faced to meet severe ser vice conditions. Fire-safe design The valves being metal seated are intrinsically fire safe and are suitable for use in most critical applications. The valves are fire safe to API 607 Edition IV.

The shaf t bottom face is at tached to the thrust plate, which is located bet we en the bearing and the bot tom cover plate. In addition, a step in the upper shaf t area is held in place by the gland. These features provide full anti-blowout protection. Shaf t Bearings

The t wo bearings provided assure concentric stem rotation, allowing stem packing to provide ma ximum sealing ef fectiveness. As a standard, the bearings are made from nitrided stainless steel.

Actuator mounting Bracket All valves are provided with brackets for easy on-site mounting of actuator. These brackets have actuator mounting holes conforming to ISO 5211.

Triple Of fset Geometry

First Of fset The centre of rotation of the disc is moved away from the seat. This allows complete sealing contact around the entire seal. Second Of fset The centre of rotation of the disc is shif ted from the valve body centre line. The ex tent of inter ference is reduced resulting in greater seal life.
FIRST OFFSET DISC OPEN PREFERRED FLOW
SECOND OFFSET

Third Of fset The centre line of the sealing cone is tilted away from the bore centre line resulting in an ellipsoidal profile. The result is a frictionless seal with uniform compr essive sealing around the entire seat.

THIRD OFFSET (ANGLE)

DISC CLOSED BODY SEAT

The triple of fset geometry is best suited for metal seated valves to provide bubbletight shut-of f on high temperature, high pressure and fire safe applications.
