The New French Revolution-2013

Before the French Revolution (1787-1799), Utilitarianism was a scholarly issue and was not given importance by the royalty and intelligentsia. Irrespective of cultures the dictatorship of Bourgeoisie ruled the masses; exploitation of the rich against the poor was considered a will of God and had the religious support of the defenders of faith. French Revolution was an historical landmark when the poor masses rebelled against the tyrannical Political Economic System of France. The uprisings in the French Revolution were against the unjustified distribution of wealth in the society. The mass rebellion against the rich was unprecedented in the history of the world. French Revolution gave a fillip to the concept of Utilitarianism in Europe; the rich decided to share Happiness with the poor. The most powerful economic powers China and India at that time were undeterred to take any lessons from the revolution. This dilemma of adaptability to change led to the rise of Europe and fall of China and India in the next two centuries.

The modern world is indebted to the struggle of French people who gave us the magic words of Libert, galit, fraternit(Liberty, Equality and Fraternity). This beautiful combination of words gave us the concepts of Capitalism, Democracy, Socialism, Social Democracy and Liberal Democracy. The audacity of the French People taught the people of the world to stand for their rights. In search of Happiness Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science and other social sciences were developed in the nineteenth century. The traditional societies began to transform towards prosperity. By 1850s female population was allowed to vote in Europe. Capitalism and democracy emerged as a strong force in Europe and North America. The seed money for the Industrial Revolution was provided by the slave trade of blacks in Africa (Standard Bank) and Opium Trade in China (Chartered Bank). The banks provided money to wage wars against the non European nations. The Utilitarianism achieved in Europe was achieved through imperialism; the sufferers were the majority in Asia, Africa and Latin America. The US conception of Manifest Destiny challenged the religious perception of Destiny. The Socialist brought a revolution in Russia(1917) to improve the distribution of wealth. The Socialists criticized

Capitalism as a failure to achieve Equality in a society as promised after the French Revolution. Twentieth century saw the rise and fall of European Nations during the 2 World Wars leaving USA and USSR as the real beneficiaries of the catastrophe of 2nd World War.

In the quest for happiness Capitalism had to be altered owing to the October Revolution in USSR(1917) and the Great Depression(1930). New concepts of Keynesian Economics and Social Democracy were introduced to increase Consumption and create a middle income group as an engine of growth for progress and prosperity. It was an attempt to improve the distribution of wealth in the society. Europe and AEAN region saw strong growth in 60s and 70s. However, failure of Keynesian Economics became evident in 1970s and a new recipe of prosperity was created with the combination of neo classical economics and liberal democracy. Concepts were created to achieve Liberty, Equality and Fraternity; concepts were buried by the people as they widened the gap between the rich and the poor. The Information Revolution developed unique ways to create wealth; the private sector adopted these diverse technologies but the tax machinery and economists remained traditional.

Nations had been subjugating poor/weak nations to improve the standard of living of their people; these legitimate robberies had been quite common in the history of Asia and Africa. The last two centuries are seen in Europe as an era of Utilitarianism. Whereas, Asian, African and Latin American countries consider the same period an era of direct and indirect imperialism by the West. The Government of France has found a unique method to create wealth by taxing the rich with a new tax of 75 per cent of their wealth. The nation which forced the corrupt rulers to work for the welfare of the society has been bankrupt

again after 200 years. Politicians have befooled them through different lofty concepts of Social uplift and prosperity through scientific means. The end result is a scientific fraud which not only encompassing France but the complete EU and USA. The First World countries are a model of growth for rest of the world, are facing the worst Financial Crisis of history. The property prices have declined; the savings of the people have been dropped as a result of widespread unemployment and under employment. Surprisingly no one is ready to answer this simple question, who is responsible for this crisis?

The people of France have revolted in 2013, however, this time it is not the poor but the super rich. More than 250 rich Frenchmen have shifted to other countries including Singapore, Luxembourg, Canada, Morocco, Israel, Hong Kong and Mauritius.

There may be an ideological conflict between Capitalism and Socialism but it could not stop famous French film star Grard Depardieu to become a Russian resident.

Grard had been a patriotic taxpayer of France, who paid so far $ 190 million in last 45 years. The mismanagement of the economic managers killed the patriotism of a law abiding citizen of France. The others are following the example. Is it Dialectic Materialism, pragmatism or comedy of errors?
