Hope Ranch Animal Rescue agrees to provide for the adoption of, and Adopter agrees to adopt the animal described above according to the terms and conditions set forth herein: The animal you are adopting has been surrendered, abandoned, or in some way displaced. It may have been abused or neglected. There may only be limited, if any, information available regarding the animals previous environment. All available information and medical records have been provided to you. Hope Ranch does not guarantee, nor is it responsible for the temperament or health of this animal, other than as is separately set forth in this contract. There will be an adjustment period. Remember to be patient, consistent and understanding. 1. The adopter agrees that this animal will NOT be used for breeding at any time under any circumstances. This animal will not be used for food, sold, traded, or given away under any circumstances. 2. The adopter agrees to accept this animal as a companion animal to live in the adopters home. The adopter agrees to provide this animal with proper food, water, housing, enrichment, veterinary care, and loving attention. The adopter agrees to obtain pertinent information regarding the proper care of this animal and to seek assistance from appropriate resources, including Hope Ranch, as needed. 3. If the adopter finds any life-threatening condition within ten (10) days of adoption that was present at the time of adoption, the adopter may return this animal to Hope Ranch for a refund of the adoption fee, provided this animal is returned to Hope Ranch no later than thirty (30) days after adoption. The adopter acknowledges and agrees that Hope Ranch will not refund to the adopter any veterinary expenses paid to a veterinarian at any time after the date of adoption of this animal. 4. The adopter understands that exotic animal medicine is a relatively new discipline, and that it is possible for an animal to be a carrier of, or infected with, a disease that is undetectable using the current tests and tools available to veterinarians. Hope Ranch is not responsible for any incidence of disease in other animals in the adopters home detected or diagnosed any time after the adoption of an animal from Hope Ranch. 5. The adopter shall allow Hope Ranch the right to examine and make inquiry about this animal at any reasonable time. The adopter shall return this animal to Hope Ranch if Hope Ranch determines that this animal is not receiving proper care. 6. Hope Ranch cannot guarantee the temperament of this animal. Therefore, Hope Ranch is not responsible for any damages or injuries caused by this animal. 7. The adopter agrees that, if at any time the adopter is unable to keep this animal, the adopter shall contact Hope Ranch for its sole determination as to the disposition of this animal. Adoption fees are not refundable under any circumstances, except as provided previously in this Adoption Contract. 8. The adopter promises to comply with the laws and ordinances enforced in the state and municipality in which Adopter resides. 9. Failure to comply with this Contract constitutes a breach of this Contract for which the adopter agrees to return of the animal to Hope Ranch. The adopter agrees to pay reasonable attorneys fees and court costs in the event this matter is referred to an attorney for legal action. I, as adopter of this animal, certify that I have never been charged with or convicted of animal abuse or neglect any state. I certify that no one in the household where this Animal will reside has been charged with or convicted of animal abuse or neglect in any state.
