State Level Eligibility Test Ajmer 305001 (Rajasthan) Rajasthan Public Service Commission conducts State Level Eligibility

Test, for determining the eligibility of candidates for recruitment as Lecturers in Universities and Colleges of Rajasthan in the below mentioned subjects. Recruitment to the post of Lecturers may be made from among the SLET qualified candidates by Universities/Colleges/Recruitment Agencies as per their prescribed procedures and rules & regulations.

Subjects: Commerce, Economics, English, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Law, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Public Administration, Sanskrit, Sociology, Management, Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Science and Environmental Science. Eligibility: (i) Only those candidates are eligible to appear in the SLET who have completed/ are pursuing a UGC specified PG Degree (List of degrees are available on UGC website) (ii) Any Indian National who has obtained Master's Degree with at least 55% of marks (without grace marks (or) rounding off 54.5 and above to 55%) or equivalent grade from an Indian University or Foreign University (equivalent to the degree of an Indian University) is eligible for the test. In case of SC/ST and Physically Handicapped and low vision candidates the minimum requirement in Masters Degree is 50% (without grace marks or rounding off) (iii) Candidates appeared or appearing at the final year of their Master's Degree examination and those with awaited result or any such candidates whose examination has been delayed may also apply for this test. However, such candidates will only be considered eligible for lectureship and permitted to join the position after they have passed the Master's degree examination or equivalent with at least 55% of marks (candidates other than SC/ST category) and 50% of marks (for SC/ST category) in the relevant or related subject and have been declared qualified in this test. These candidates must obtain their P.G. Degree/mark sheet within one year from the date of SLET examination with required percentage or marks, failing which they would be treated as disqualified. (iv) The Ph.D degree holders, whose Master's degree examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55 %) for appearing in the SLET examination (v) Candidates are advised to appear in the subject in which they have taken the post-Graduate Degree. Age Limit: There is no upper age limit. Validity (i) As per the recent decision of the UGC, the SLET examination schedule in or after June 2002 the SLET qualified candidates shall be eligible to apply for the post of lecturer only in Universities/Colleges belonging to the same state whose SLET examination they have cleared. (ii) For lectureship eligibility, the SLET certificate is valid for the particular state only and forever Exemption From Appearing in the Test: Candidates who have completed M.Phil Degree by 31st December 1993 or have submitted Ph.D Thesis to the University in the concerned subject on or before 31st December are exempted from appearing in the NET /SLET examinatio. Note: (i) The above candidates should have at least 55% of marks in their Post Graduation to be eligible for Lectureship (ii) Candidates who have qualified the JRF Test conducted by the UGC prior to the test introduced for lectureship (ii) The above candidates should have at least 50% of marks in their post graduation to be eligible for Lectureship (ii) Candidates who have qualified the National Level Eligibility Test for Lectureship conducted by UGC/CSIR (iii) The above candidates should have at least 55% marks in their post graduation to be eligible for lectureship. Paper I: It is of general nature and intended to assess the teaching/ research capabilities of the candidates. It
is primarily designed to test the reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidates, as per the changed syllabus of Paper 1 Paper II: It consists of short question based on the subject selected by the candidates. I & II Paper will consist of a test booklet containing 50 objective type questions. The candidates are required to mark their response by blue ball pen only for each question on the answersheet Paper-III: It Consists of only descriptive questions from the syllabus of the subject selected by the candidates. The candidates will be required to attempt questions in the Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 space provided in the test booklet. The pattern of Paper III has been changed Note: There is no negative marking for wrong answers in Paper-I and Paper-II. A candidate who does not appear in Paper-I will not be permitted to appear in Paper-II and Paper-III. Paper-III is evaluated only for those candidates who are able to secure the minimum qualifying marks in the Paper-I and Paper-II. For Visually Handicapped candidates 30 minutes extra time is provided separately for Paper I and Paper II. For Paper III 45 minutes extra time is provided. They are also provided a writer who would be graduate in a subject other than that of the candidate. In Paper III candidates have the option to answer either in Hindi or in English in all subjects except languages. Language papers are to be answered in the concerned language only (ii) Syllabus of test: The syllabus for all the papers is that of UGC/ CSIR NET examination. For science subjects viz. Life science, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Science, the Paper I is in accordance to syllabi of UGC/ NET. Paper II is based on the syllabus of Section (B) of Paper I of CSIR and paper III is based on the syllabi of Paper II of CSIR.
