It works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces.

Used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines

WARNING: Keep emergency equipment readily available at time of initial dose, in case of severe hypersensitivity reaction. Protect drug vials from light. Administer every 6hr to maintain serum levels and control pain. TEACHING POINTS: Avoid doing activities that requires alertness such as driving or using dangerous machinery because this drug controls dizziness. Report sore throat, fever, rash, itching, weight gain, swelling in ankles or fingers, changes in vision, black tarry stools, easy bruising. TEACHING POINTS: Patients should be instructed that if a dose is missed, it should be taken as soon as possible. However, if the next scheduled dose is due, the patient shouldnt take the missed dose, and should be instructed to take the next dose on time. Patients should be instructed not to take 2 doses at one time to make up for a missed dose.

Tramadol 50mg SIVP Central-acting analgesic

Not clearly defined. Decrease inflammation, mainly by stabilizing leukocyte lysosomal membranes; suppresses immune response; stimulating bone marrow; and influences protein, fats, and carbohydrate metabolism. Binds to mu-opioid receptors and inhibits the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin; causes many effects similar to the opioidsdizziness, somnolence, nausea, constipation--but doesnt have the respiratory depressant effects.

Severe inflammation, shock

TEACHING POINTS: For better results and less toxicity, give one-dose daily in morning. Take with meals or snacks if GI upset occurs.

WARNING: Control environment (temp, lighting) if sweating or CNS effects occur. Limit use in patients with past or present history of addiction to or dependence on opioids. TEACHING POINTS: Avoid alcohol Patient may experience these side effects: dizziness, sedation, drowsiness, impaired visual acuity (avoid driving or performing tasks that require alertness); nausea, loss of appetite (lie quietly, eat frequent small meals). Report severe nausea, dizziness, and constipation.

Anti-tetanus serum 4500 U IM ANST(-) Immunologic agent

ATS binds in the tetanus toxin in your blood, blocking the toxins action on the bodys systems.

Used for the prevention and treatment of tetanus. Tetanus is a.k.a. lockjaw which is a serious bacterial infection. The bacterial infection produces tetanus toxoid, which can cause muscle spasms and decreased muscle control. If the airway becomes involved, the condition can be fatal. TT is indicated for booster injection only for person 7 years of age and older against tetanus.

Shake well the vial before withdrawing each dose. Special care should be taken to ensure that the injection doesnt enter the blood vessel.

Tetanus Toxoid 0.5cc IM Anti-tetanus

It normally binds itself to the peripheral nerve terminals. Then it is transported to the CNS where it blocks the release of inhibitory neurotransmitters.
