Students are to monitor and record, respiratory rate, body temperature, capillary refill time, colour of mucous membranes and depth of anaesthesia on anaesthetic record at least every 3 minutes. Iepth of anaesthesia is determined by the level of muscle rela,ation, presence or absence of the pedal ithdra al refle, presence or absence of response to tail pinch in the rat presence or absence of the palpebral refle, location of the iris
