Dear Prospective Partner, I am writing to present to your company a mutually beneficial opportunity that will promote the success of a promising group of young engineers. Since our establishment, the Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity at UC Berkeley has formed a cohesive group of student members for the purposes of professional development, philanthropy, and brotherhood. What distinguishes us from the typical student group is our external influence. For example, our Rube Goldberg Machine Contest each spring successfully outreaches to engineers at both Berkeley and neighboring colleges, and our Discovery Expo during the fall helps to motivate Bay Area youth to pursue science in their higher education. Despite our efforts in giving back to the community and developing our engineers, the Theta Tau Epsilon Chapter is routinely limited by a lack of funds. We reach out to you because we believe a relationship between our two parties will ensure mutual success. UC Berkeley is one of the most highly regarded engineering universities in the world and as a partner, you will have the chance to utilize our extensive network by creating direct connections with not only our organizations talented and well-rounded engineers, but also with Berkeleys top students outside of our organization. We have included different sponsorship packages and descriptions of our upcoming events so you can better understand how funds will be distributed in order to meet our organizations goals. Information Session o Interested in recruiting interns or full-time engineers from Cal? Let us know your preferred date and time, and we will take care of the room reservation, set-up, publicity, and food for the event. Event of your choice o These events could range from additional information sessions to resume workshops to mock interviews to technology talks; we will take care of the planning, set-up, and publicity for the event. Engineering Design Competition Named Sponsor o Theta Tau will be hosting an Engineering Design Competition on Nov. 23rd to engage enthusiastic engineers in a hackathon style event o As a named sponsor, your companys logo will be included on all event materials and your companys sponsorship be announced during the event. o A table will be made available for you at the competition to publicize your company and distribute company information. o We also invite you to be a guest judge at our event to critique the imaginative projects the students come up with. Rube Goldberg Competition Named Sponsor o Theta Tau will host a Rube Goldberg Competition in the Spring in which different student organizations conceptualize, build, and test a 30 step contraption. o As a named sponsor, your companys logo will be included on all event materials and your companys sponsorship be announced during the event. o A table will be made available for you at the competition to publicize your company and distribute company information. o We also invite you to be a guest judge at our event to critique the creativity and functionality of the different machines. Discovery Expo Named Sponsor o Theta Tau hosts the Discovery Expo each Fall for the local community to inspire interest in STEM fields. Elementary school students are invited to engage in fun, inquisitive science and engineering projects during the event. Resume Book o ~60 resumes from qualified brothers seeking both intern and fulltime positions spanning all the different engineering disciplines at Cal. o Available electronically or in hard copy. General Donation o Any general donation will be greatly appreciated.
