On a mission to reach Eastern Kentucky and our world for Jesus Christ

Psalm 31:19 How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you. (NIV) I Thank Thee O Thou whose bounty fills my cup, with every blessing meet! I give Thee thanks for every drop the bitter and the sweet. I praise Thee for the desert road, and for the riverside; For all Thy goodness hath bestowed, and all Thy grace denied. I thank Thee for both smile and frown, and for the gain and loss; I praise Thee for the future crown, and for the present cross. I thank Thee for both wings of love, which stirred my worldly nest; And for the stormy clouds which drove me, trembling, to Thy breast. I bless Thee for the glad increase, and for the waning joy; And for this strange, this settled peace which nothing can destroy. --Jane Crewdson (1860) Psalm 95:1-6 "O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker." (KJV) HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!!!!

Saying Thank You Thank the Lord because he is good. His Love continues forever. Psalm 106:1

SKI Day Saturday Feb. 8th @ Perfect North Slopes

Worship is when youre aware that what youve been given is far greater than what you can give. Worship is the awareness that were it not for his touch, youd still be hobbling and hurting, bitter and broken. Worship is the half glazed expression on the patched face of a desert pilgrim as he discovers that the oasis is not a mirage. Worship is the thank you that refuses to be silenced.

WINTER JAM Feb. 22nd @ US Bank Arena (Cincinnati) March 15th @ Rupp Arena Lexington

We have tried to make a science out of worship. We cant do that. We cant do that any more than we can sell love or negotiate peace. Worship is a voluntary act of gratitude offered by the saved to the Savior, by the healed to the Healer, and by the delivered to the Deliverer.

New from Nazarene Publishing House for Advent Season

Celebrate..An Advent Experience

The Advent season is a time to celebrate that our God came, is coming, and will come again. As we travel the road to Christmas, the presence of Christ is being revealed in our world. He is in our midst and takes up residence in our hearts. There are many ways to celebrate this time of anticipation- festivities, gifts, songs, food, time with friends and family, and traditions. There is one tradition of receiving a small gift each day through the use of the Advent calendar. In this 4-week devotional for families, you will be encouraged to participate in this tradition- with a twist. This Advent season, Celebrate will challenge you to fill your Advent calendar with daily acts of mercy. Instead of celebrating by preparing to lavish resources where there is merely want, prepare by lavishing mercy where there is need. Lives get busy during this time of the year, and making life busier is not the goal of this experience. The devotionals, readings, and other materials are designed to help you enter more deeply into this season of Advent. Celebrate through acts of mercy.

Director: Scott A. Hill Email: scotthcpp@aol.com

Tis the Season With Christmas just around the corner we all should be excited about this time of year. This is a very special time what we celebrate the Birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus. The malls will be packed around the world, parking spaces hard to find, and people are already shopping for that special gift! The Birth of Jesus changed everything and this is a special time of the year! This time of year is packed with the excitement of Christmas for the kids and the kids in all of us! This is also a wonderful opportunity for our churches to experience growth. Here are three tips to allow your church to experience growth at Christmas and after!! 1. Get the kids up front for special Christmas Programs. When the kids are up front doing their programs people are blessed, and moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and extended family attend.

Evangelism & Church Growth (continued)
2.

Get the word out. Christmas is a special time, assure your Christmas activities such as childrens programs, Sermon Series, Adult Christmas programs, Candy/fruit bag giveaway day, Christmas Communions, etc. Gets communicated. Churches can get the word out through its members, put in bulletin, post on Face Book pages, have a Christmas banner made and put up in a prominent location in your community, send a letter, etc 3. Have a follow-up plan. Visitors will come during the Christmas Season and we must have a follow-up plan. Now is a good time to get a Christmas follow-up plan together to assure visitors contact information is obtained, and to appoint a person to head up the followup initiative. Lets get ready for Christmas!!

Calling all 50 Plus EKD friends!

If you love good gospel music, I invite you to join us on Friday, November 22, 2013 at our Lancaster Church of the Nazarene! You will be blessed as you hear the gospel message in song presented by the Triumphant Quartet! To be assured of a good seat, be there by 6:30. The church is in a new location, but it is on US 27 and directly across the street from the Lancaster McDonald's.......you can't miss it. Bring as many folks with you as you can. As we think ahead to the beautiful thanksgiving time of the year, I want to encourage each of you to remember the great blessings we enjoy even in the midst of the ups and downs of daily living. As the writer of our Sunday School material expressed recently, don't let Satan steal your JOY! It's one of the main characteristics that draws others to Christ as it is played out in our daily living! Have a blessed Thanksgiving and if I can be of service to you or your ministry, please call. Bette Edwards, District Director.
