Level of Diversification:

1983: started its operations by manufacturing time recorder units


1998: manufacturing of 5.2 inch floppy disk
1999: started manufacturing CD and DVD’s
2005: Announced Moser Baer Photovoltaic Ltd as it’s wholly owned subsidiary
2006: made a foray into entertainment business
2008: started the production of consumer durables like DVD players

Export Sales: 270 crores for 2008-2009 (75% of the earnings of Moser Baer comes
through Exports. It has its presence in 82 countries worldwide)

Technology and Process Up gradation: The company, along with recently acquired
OM&T, the former R&D subsidiary of Philips, has developed what it says is the
world's first high speed 8x Blu-ray disc (BDR). Technological partnerships with
companies like Hewlett Packard

Employee Relations: Moser Baer does not have any labor unions. Communication
between the employees is encouraged through regular “townhall meetings” apart
from that work life balance and effective stress management is achieved through
