I. INTENT:
To provide a standardized procedure for the proper set up of the BIOS and jumper settings on the Nexcom 715-HT Passive Backplane (P/B) Industrial CPU Board (415-0166-922).
II. SCOPE:
Specific to the 007-3003-012 Nexcom 715-HT Pentium 478 Pin PPGA CPU Board with the 450-0001-388 Celeron 2.4GHZ Processor installed. BIOS parameters for Ultimax, Lathe, and WinMax systems.
III. PROCEDURE:
A Jumper Configuration 1. 2. Remove the CPU Board from its packaging and visually inspect it for any damage. Configure the jumpers as follows.

Use the arrow keys to select Standard CMOS Features, press Enter key. Note: DO NOT Use the IDE HDD Auto Detect function in CMOS on any drive setup. a. Set the Primary Master hard drive parameters as follows. For a list of the approved hard drives and their proper parameters see document 757-4002-166. 1) If the hard drive is less than 500MB or if the software is older and has cylinder and sector restriction less than 500 MB: a) Enter into the Standard CMOS Features screen. b) Change the "IDE Primary Master" parameter to Manual. c) Change the Access Mode to CHS.

d) 2)
Set the cylinders, heads and sectors from the list in document 757-4002-166.
If the hard drive is greater than 500MB and the software is 1.71 or 2.00 2.35 then the LBA mode must be used. a) Enter into the Standard CMOS Features screen. b) Change the IDE Primary Master parameter to Manual. Change the Access Mode to CHS. c) d) Set the cylinders, heads and sectors from the list in document 757-4002-166. (i.e. for Ultimax use C 3303, H 16, S 63) e) Change the Access Mode to LBA. The values in the cylinders, heads, and sectors may change. These new numbers are derived by the CMOS. If the hard drive is being setup for Ultimax 2.36.02 or above, use the Auto function in CMOS. a) Enter into the Standard CMOS Features screen. b) Change the IDE Primary Master parameter to Auto. c) Set Access Mode to LBA If the hard drive is being setup for Lathe or WinMax, use the Auto function in CMOS. a) Enter into the Standard CMOS Features screen. b) Change the IDE Primary Master parameter to Auto. c) Set Access Mode to Auto
